The Dorroughby thread

Let's give Dorro his own little corner of the Books Board - he was such an active and valued part of the board, and we all have good memories of him.

He was a lovely person and great seller, always happy to help with information, and whenever eBay made one of its frequent changes and the rest of us were predicting that this time the sky really would fall, he was the voice of reason and control. And he was usually right.

I remember talking with him a few years ago about how he had switched from studying engineering to doing nursing. A radical thing for a guy to do in the 70s. He would have been a fantastic nurse.

Re: The Dorroughby thread

Hey Donna,

My question is if my items have a 2 week handling time in the listing, can people still complain?

Hi Lewis

They will most likely give you low stars for postage time, you can't afford to get many low ratings for postage time, even if you state it in your listing it won't stop them leaving low ratings.

Donna's right. Be patient, get your stock close to hand, you are going to have to answer buyer questions too.

Re: The Dorroughby thread

I don't visit the boards much any more but I have been thinking of Dorroughby and his family the past few days. I hope his family are doing OK and not grieving too hard.

a year later and I still miss Dorroughby and his presence on this board.

Re: The Dorroughby thread

Never had much to do with him.

Lewis seems to be doing okay. Consistent sales with 600 odd listings; still TRS.
