eBay Global Shipping marks items delivered before they are delivered

Anyone else is having the same problem?

 

In "my eBay" tracking incorrectly shows item as delivered to my PO Box and that I signed for it. Australia Post has no record of the parcel and informes that it would not accept anything directly from FedEx or other carriers. The package tracks through Pitney Bowes and FedEx but not Australia Post. 

 

It happened twice in a month with parcels from the US.The first time, I opened a case that eBay automatically closed it based on their incorrect tracking info. I immediately appealed and got a "courtesy" refund. In a week I actually got the item that was supposedly delivered a week before it arrived in a local Australia Parcel with no reference to the seller or any of the eBay tracking IDs.

 

The second time I made a query to FedEx, let the seller know that despite eBay, Pitney Bowes and FeDex assertions, I did not get the package. I also asked Australia Post to look into what was happening if they can. I have good relations with my posties and today got a call that I got a package with a FedEx reference (not given by eBay). Apparently someone in Matrville sticks an Australia Post eParcel sticker onto the FedEx package and  signs the FedEx delivery in my name. Once this happens eBay marks the package as delivered. However the package does NOT actually arrive for a few more days or like last time a week later. In this case I got the Item in 3 days after it was marked as delivered.

 

Anyone knows how to prevent these problems?

since PBI opens and repacks your items - remove protection foil etc. to make it lighter and saves them postage - be careful to buy breakable items off sellers using them as shipping method - Ebay should clearly mark the program on their side ! for me ebay shot themselves in the foot !

And your point is? Despite the numerous threads on here about people having different issues, hundreds of thousands of people have had successful purchases and deliveries. I've have issues, I've had successful deliveries, in what I deem to be record time (5 days from purchase, to my door,,,,,,,,,,I can barely get that as express in Aus!). The longest delivery was 13 calendar days. 

 

I'm not disputing that others haven't had issues, whether it be breakages, or slow deliveries, I know that to be true, but you seem to be extremely obscessed with this, to the point of being OCD. If I let something like this rule all my spare time, I would be seeking help, or admitting myself to the funny farm. You have become like a rabid dog,

 

Instead of continuously offering a sympathetic shoulder, and being the wet blanket, why not offer advice. Not just on GSP/GST, but other aspects of eBay. You've been around long enough to know how things work, but you don't seem to want to help, you are just the shoulder to cry on. That serves no purpose. People who come here want solutions. They don't want someone hugging them saying "there there", yet that's all you seem to offer. Funny how none of the people you hug reply to your hugs.

I won't bother replying to the other stuff you wrote.   I post on many other threads and I've offered support and advice to people who have been ripped off by crooked, cunning and cavalier sellers. I've defended the right of buyers to speak out about crooked sellers even when they have been mocked, called wingers etc

 

If you call what I offer to be hugs etc, It's got to be better than trying to make the newbies feel foolish, small and intimidated so they never come back.

This is the exact problem that im having!!Because I simply waited for the package to eventually arrive ive now void my eBay replacement option because it been too long a period of time.My fault apparently!!

You can't track an item that has incorrectly been "delivered" and there's no point in contacting the seller as is eBays REQUIRMENT because they believe it been delivered!!!

Three parcels now that have simply dissapeared and eBay are complexly uncontactable unless your thread matches theirs!!!

You are replying to a thread started over 5 YEARS AGO, it would have been better for you to start your own thread on this.

 

In regards to your part underlined above, yes it was your mistake not to open a dispute within the time period allotted to you under eBay's MBG. Had you done that you could have argued your case with them and probably have got a resolution over it in your favour.

 

Do that next time if it happens again.

Yes, there is full protection under the eBay MBG, as long as you act within the timeframes of the guarantee. I very strongly suggest you bookmark the relevant Help page and read it thoroughly so that you’ll not end up in this position again.

 

You can still open up a dispute in PayPal. (Timeline is 180 days from the date of the transaction.) Make sure you open the correct sort of dispute. If something arrived from the seller, then the correct claim is SNAD (not as described). If nothing was delivered, it’s INR (item not received).

 

Check delivery status for the tracking number.

If delivery status says it’s delivered, get onto AP by phone and try to sort out what has happened.

I’m not sure what you mean - unless you think that typing a question on these boards = contacting eBay. It doesn’t; these boards are Community boards, public forums for eBay members (member-to-member).

 

To contact eBay, go to “Help” and scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will see the Live Chat link. If you mean that the chat asks you to select a topic, just choose one that is as similar to your situation as possible; frankly, it will probably not matter what topic you choose.
