You would need to contact the seller and ask.

You don't buy from eBay, you buy from other individuals advertising on the eBay site.

A seller might replace faulty struts, but doubt you will get any satisfaction on damaged items if seller wasn't the installer.

I am at a loss to imagine how this would happen. Was the strut so tight it would not close hence the bonnet bent when closing. Modern cars have points where they will crush under pressure and is this where it happened. Easy to tell by the way it is shaped as it would be indented where it creased. As far as compensation many parts have disclaimers and if it came from an overseas seller you would have zero chance.

I was going to ask if the seller was also the installer? I think that would be the only way to get the seller for insurance

Unless the installer has verified in writing the product was  suppose to be suitable but was faulty/at fault

Seller is registered in China.

Your feedback mentions legal action because their product caused damage.

Can't see any joy in suing a Chinese seller.

But you can open a case for 'Not as described' and at least get your money back
