I think this is CRAP, unless i read it wrong...

I sell on occasion on ebay, so the single stuff this is good...

one of my items that i sell once a year, is an fish tank plant, now i get multiple lots... depending on how big it grows,

Now if i understand these changes i will need to list as single listings or open a ebay store in order to have a single buy it now listing with 20 items for example,

then have to pay $19.95 for basic store, + listing fee's + finial value fee's + Paypal fee's so my $5.00 item will have to go upto $15.00 just so i can cover fee's from Ebay's company's

utter joke, unless i read incorrectly!

how is this meeting "Buyer Demand"

ok fixed price auctions, good

but making it expensive for sellers to sell items... will make us do what Qantas and many other companies will be doing with the Carbon Tax, with the Government! pass the extra costs onto the buyers!...

but i guess ebay thought of this...

but forgot one thing...

expensive listings = expensive products = no buyers = no sellers = no ebay

What a farce for the items I sell even when the sale fee is capped I will be up to 50% worse off in fees. Uncapped sales could cost me an additional $100 in fees. Once the current items are sold I will be reevaluating my options.

For the remaining items still to sell I will be adding something like this:
“In line with the changes made by ebay.com.au to “meet buyer demand” implemented 22-September-2011. I have been forced to raise my sales prices to meet the changes you as the buyer requested. Please feel free to contact ebay on 1800-322-928 to thank ebay personally for meeting your expectations”

Just read this and have to say "Brilliant!" You have indeed highlighted the facts that ebay have stated as needed changes by the buyers request......a link back to ebays statements for the buyers to read would be good and all that agree should place this on their listings too!
Buyers requesting to pay more - I am sure they would be amazed if they realised behind the scenes.......
Good on You though for a well thought out statement.

I haven't sold on eBay for a while (Gumtree is my main selling site now) and with the new pricing, I doubt I'll be selling here again.

I found it highly amusing that the press-release states:

"eBay is re-balancing and simplifying fees by slightly increasing final value fees – from 5.25% to 7.9%".

Now I'm no mathematical genius, but going from 5.25% to 7.9% is an increase of just over 50% - not SLIGHT by anyone's standards...

Bunch of crooks...

A FOND FAREWELL

AFTER 12 YEARS AS AN ACTIVE HOME BUYER AND SELLER THIS IS MY LAST DAY ON EBAY. FOR YEARS I WAS DRIVEN BY SELLING QUALITY ITEMS, MAKING A MERE INCOME TO PAY FOR GROCERIES AND OFFERING A FAST AND SAFE SERVICE.

ALAS REALITY HAS HIT AND I AM NOW FORCED TO LEAVE EBAY. I HAVE ENDURED MANY CHANGES AND NOW IF I CONTINUE i AM JUST WORKING FOR EBAY AND PAYPAL.

I WONDER WHY EBAY EVEN HAS A RATING SYSTEM WHEN BUYERS CAN NEVER HAVE A RATING LESS THAN 100% BUT SELLERS CAN GET NEGATIVE WITHOUT AND DEFENCE OR AT LEAST BUYERS GOING THROUGH THE RESOLUTION PROCESS.

ENOUGH SAID.... TAKE A DEEP BREATH IF YOU CONTINUE TO TRADE AS A HOME SELLER YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME AND HAVE BECOME A VICTIM OF CORPORATE AMERICAN GREED. AU REVIOR

Re: Changes to meet buyer demand on eBay.com.au (26/07/2011)

I do not understand how this top rated seller works. I have 100% feedback for 10 years and dsr's of 4.9, 4.9, 4.8 and 4.9 but I did not get get top rated seller because I had an issue with Australia Post who lost about 20 orders.

They eventually turned up after about 2 weeks but I copped 11 dsr scores of 1 or 2 for it so I do not meet Top Rated Seller status. How confusing is it going to be for buyers who see me with 100% feedback not having top rated seller status but some sellers I have seen only having as low as 99% feedback are top rated sellers?

So buyers will see my great record and see dodgy sellers with poor records that are top rated sellers and will not know what to believe.

Top Rated seller will have no credibility because there are too many criteria. Just stick to one thing or the other.
