Hi,
Does anyone have a valid number that eBay can be contacted on externally? I need a number that the ACT Fair Trading office can contact eBay (so can't used the one where eBay contacts me)

The call centre has been closed for years.
Fair Trading and all those types of agencies cannot do anything if a seller is registered outside of Australia anyway.
You would be much better off telling us what the issue is. We have a metric ton of experience and can guide you a lot better.

The call centre isn't closed? You can request a call from eBay and they call you from one of their call centres (usually in the Philippines, although this morning was Columbia). I've spoken to them numerous times in the last 6 months this way.
The issue is nothing to do with a seller, it's to do with ebay themselves, hence why I need a contact for eBay so fair trading can get onto them. They owe me a $30 voucher from signing up with eBay plus back in October (their T&CS state the voucher will be received within 10 days of signup). They still have not provided the voucher and continually give me a different story every time I contact eBay.

So will ACT Fair Trading - give you a different answer.

I don't understand your response? Will ACT fair trading give me a different response?

I doubt they will respond - at all.

So you signed up for Ebay plus to get a $30 voucher but do you realise it costs about $49 a year to keep the subscription?
Ebay agents are useless for the most part. They cannot help beyond very simple enquiries and generally read from scripts. Speaking to agents from places like Columbia is going to be even more hopeless. If you really feel inclined, instead of a call-back, why not just have a text chat through the online facility? At least you'll get a transcript of the conversation.
Seems like a lot of angst for $30 and trying to get outside agencies involved, who I seriously doubt will be bothered. You would be better off cancelling the subscription if they have not already charged you for the year.

I'm well aware the membership is $49 for the year (who signs up to something if they're not aware of the cost?) and it's too late to cancel it as they charged my bank account back in October.
It may be $30 but it's the false advertising that annoys me, if they've done it to me they've probably do it to dozens, if not 100s of other people. This is the point of having government bodies like fair trading, to keep large business like eBay in check when the make make false representations. I've dealt with fair trading before and these are definitely things they look into.
So far I've yet to get an actual response that answers the question of getting a contact phone number for eBay

Yes I did and that number doesn't work, it's a recorded message that end up disconnecting the call. Have you actually tried calling that number?
