Australia Post delivered Chanel No 5 Perfume to the wrong address and admitted it was their fault & could not get the parcel back after numerous attempts. I have contacted AP & they have said they cant refund as it was a Dangerous item. I have sent perfume before and showed AP what it was & was not told it was prohibited to sell. I have been waiting for weeks for ebay to do something about this as I thought AP was going to refund me which they should do. They even sent me photos of the post box the perfume was left in & I told them it was NOT my post box. Ebay use AP as their delivery service and should be able to fix this problem and get AP to refund the costs. If They use the excuse about Prohibited Goods I should be able to contact Consumer Affairs.

it's not just perfumes sold on eBay . . . it's all perfumes unless you have a dangerous goods permit.

" I told them it was NOT my post box"
So you're the buyer.
"I have been waiting for weeks for ebay to do something about this"
You purchased from a seller who sells their items on the eBay site.
Was it a reputable seller who may have had a dangerous goods licence ?
It's always a problem proving an item was delivered to a wrong address as the parcel tracking will show as delivered but have you actually opened an item not received claim through eBay's money back guarantee ?

Please do contact consumer affairs
Report yourself for sending perfume through the post without a permit and that was not your first time
Since you have posted admitting it on a public forum, it may have already been seen by them

why should AP refund you or anyone for sending prohibited items. it's plan and simple, read the rules and you will be ok

So, letโs get this rightโฆ..you are the buyer on this occasion, but have sent perfume in the past?
If so, it is up to the seller to get refund from A.P.
Did you start an โitem not receivedโ claim?

Yes I have done that and I have a photo from AP showing the Post box it was delivered to which I told them was NOT my post box. I have had trouble with AP delivering to the wrong address the week before. It was something from Myers which I just happened to see delivered 2 houses down from me. I was lucky to see it the same time an email was sent telling me the parcel had been delivered. I looked outside & NO PARCEL so walked down 2 houses & found it. It is UNACEPTABLE that ebay is supporting & using AP that are not delivering parcels to the RIGHT address so they should be responsible.

I also have showed ebay & AP post the letter from AP showing me the letter box it was delivered to. I also have sent the receipt send to ebay from AP saying it was delivered.

The carrier that eBay actively promotes is Sendle, whose reputation is far poorer than AP.
At the end of the day it is the sellers themselves who decide which carrier they are going to use. Some will chose Sendle because it's cheaper - others will use AP because it's more reliable.
In all my years on eBay as a buyer, I've had minimal problems with AP, but with Sendle I've had more problems that you can poke a stick at, both in the city and now in the country where I now live.
