A/Post says Perfumes Sold on Ebay are Dangerous Prohibited Items to Save them giving a Refund

Australia Post delivered Chanel No 5 Perfume to the wrong address and admitted it was their fault & could not get the parcel back after numerous attempts. I have contacted AP & they have said they cant refund as it was a Dangerous item. I have sent perfume before and showed AP what it was & was not told it was prohibited to sell. I have been waiting for weeks for ebay to do something about this as I thought AP was going to refund me which they should do. They even sent me photos of the post box the perfume was left in & I told them it was NOT my post box.  Ebay use AP as their delivery service and should be able to fix this problem and get AP to refund the costs. If They use the excuse about Prohibited Goods I should be able to contact Consumer Affairs.

Are you the buyer?

Did you lodge a 'not received' claim?

This was the 1st time I bought perfume online & did not know it was illegal. These people are selling it all the time and have sites so there is a difference although you don't seem you really understand. Tipping $4oo of perfume on plants should not have to be done by myself or anyone else. When this is reported & the sellers are still there I am sure someone will take note. I have since read under Postage that many people are NOT receiving their items. Unless you have experienced it I would not be commenting

No not AP it is Ebay that are not checking that sellers are legally able to sell these items online. These sellers are obviously being allowed to sell illegal items online.

it is not eBay's responsibility to check that items are able to be posted.

eBay provides a platform for sellers, it does not sell, sellers accept responsibility for the items they sell and how they are sent.

eBay provides the tools for sellers and/or items to be reported if items are illegal, fake, counterfeit, dangerous etc.

Have you reported the items to eBay?  Have you contacted the makers of Channel5 to let them know about fake Channel5 on eBay?  They would be able to quickly have fake item listings removed through eBay's VERO program.

Good luck - you'll need it over a bottle of perfume.

I have contacted Ebay and am still waiting to hear back, this has been going on for months. Ebay has a responsibility to buyers to let people know they are being Scammed & lied to by buying FAKE perfume when they have been told.

This is all we need to know.......Are you the buyer?

Did you lodge a 'not received' claim?

The rest of your responses are irrelevant to your current claim

further to my previous post, eBay have the โ€˜seller responsibilityโ€™ notification on every listing

You blaming eBay is a case of misdirected blame.

The order of blame is:

1 - YOU, for buying perfume on eBay and expecting it not to be counterfeit

2 - the seller

3 - AP

ooops, only 1 to blame
