A/Post says Perfumes Sold on Ebay are Dangerous Prohibited Items to Save them giving a Refund

Australia Post delivered Chanel No 5 Perfume to the wrong address and admitted it was their fault & could not get the parcel back after numerous attempts. I have contacted AP & they have said they cant refund as it was a Dangerous item. I have sent perfume before and showed AP what it was & was not told it was prohibited to sell. I have been waiting for weeks for ebay to do something about this as I thought AP was going to refund me which they should do. They even sent me photos of the post box the perfume was left in & I told them it was NOT my post box.  Ebay use AP as their delivery service and should be able to fix this problem and get AP to refund the costs. If They use the excuse about Prohibited Goods I should be able to contact Consumer Affairs.

I will contact ACCC & Consumer Affair as I was RETURING perfume that was a COPY of Chanel No 5. I Told the seller it was FAKE & was refunded. I don't know if they have permit but ACCC can check if Ebay don't care or do the right thing. Unfortunately before I received or tried this perfume a friend wanted me to buy Chanel No 5 too for his friend. It was purchased from someone else which I did not take too much notice of until I tried to cancel straight after the purchase as I accidently put it on my card not his. I tried to cancel the sale for 2 days but the seller would not contact me. He sells some sort of cards so I thought later the perfume would also be FAKE & had intended to RETURN it. This could NOT be done as it was LOST by AP. I will report both sellers. One did the right thing the other has been impossible to contact.

It is UNACEPTABLE that ebay is supporting & using AP that are not delivering parcels to the RIGHT address so they should be responsible.

so tell me, which carrier that delivers Australia wide would you recommend sellers use?

AP miss-delivers a couple of parcels to you and you want eBay to have sellers stop supporting their use?

It's a NO from me, I'll continue to support AP.

*edit*

I have had zero problems with Australia Post, so I am probably annoyed that someone who has had problems wants my eBay items not sent by AP.

Couriers are not my best option.

Your experience is the exception, not the norm.

I returned 2 x 100ml perfume as it was FAKE it was accepted by one seller to return it. The local post wanted to see what was being sent/returned & there was NO PROBLEMS from AP. I did NOT know they were prohibited & AP did not tell me it was prohibited? If that is right? My friend who purchased the Chanel 30ml was going to RETURN the item as he was not going to chance it was FAKE too for his g/f. He was unable to do this as AP delivered to WRONG house. This is the Fault of AP.  They have admitted it & I have the letters

a couple of things

- good luck with an ACCC or Consumer Affairs complaint, you'll need it

- not only is sending perfume through the post not allowed, but sending counterfeit goods through the post is illegal.

The correct procedure for dealing with counterfeit goods is to prove they are fake, claim a refund, destroy the goods (in the case of perfumes, pour them on weeds in your back yard).

I doubt that the ACCC or Consumer Affars will handle any complaint about the AP non-delivery of goods that shouldn't have been sent through AP in the first place.

Since AP have accepted it was their fault the recent parcel was delivered to the wrong house Ebay should be supporting their buyers & sellers. It was just lucky I saw the other parcel delivered to wrong address. I do not want parcels left and not signed for.  I would rather pick up. The thing is I have been home on both occasions. I did let Myers know as it puts online shoppers off purchasing from what I have read.

I will repeat my previous post:

So, letโ€™s get this rightโ€ฆ..you are the buyer on this occasion, but have sent perfume in the past?

If so, it is up to the seller to get refund from A.P.

Did you start an โ€œitem not receivedโ€ claim?

Nope, yours

Please do contact the ACCC et all and let them know

You sent not only a dangerous good but without a permit to do so

You also sent a counterfeit item which is illegal

Squarely on you on both counts, no matter how you want to spin it

eBay do support buyers and sellers, but they should not when both parties breach not only eBay policy but regulations (aka 'the law' in general) both parties are then equally as guilty as each other

Stop trying to pass the blame off elsewhere and take responsibility for your own actions

I have read numerous letters just now stating that AP is not delivering items. If my local AP office think it is ok to send that is all I need to know. So AP is responsible.

No not AP it is Ebay that are not checking that sellers are legally able to sell these items online. These sellers are obviously being allowed to sell illegal items online.
