Am I anal?Other buyers have an issue with receiving goods that are filthy??

Hi all

It really annoys me when I buy something & it is sent in a filthy condition...

Does it bother anyone else? I buy light fittings & canisters, sometimes I receive them in horrendous condition, do people find them under the shed or at the tip & then just post them on here?

For me as a seller as well, I would never send an item to someone that was clearly filthy?? If I want a buyer to buy from me again it is very important to me that I ensure whatever I sell is sent in as clean condition as possible..

Do other's agree or AM I anal??

Weavils from other countries are different than weavils here, due to independent evolutionary lineages ... but possibly not different enough to wreak environmental havoc when introduced.... I hope!

Bump, I have been trying to answer you for the last 2 days but it would not post.

It is highly unlikely that i would have been fined as I bought empty canisters and could not be held responsible for anything else that was sent to me.

I have no idea if weavils are the same the world over....they looked the same but I did not examine them in detail.  I doused them with boiling water, scooped the little blighters up with paper towels and put them in a screw top jar and gave them to my daughter to dispose of at work (she works for an international freight forwarder and has access to Customs to dispose of illegal imports).

BTW, Customs are not really the ogres that many people think they are.

I bought a pot pourri container complete with mix and asked the seller to remove the sachet before sending the container.

When it arrived it had been opened by Customs....they had removed the sachet as the seller had not done as I asked.  The container was repacked and a stiff letter included....slap on the wrist, don't do it again.

They would have been quite within their rights to destroy the whole thing but obviously someone used some commonsense and compassion and sent me the container.

lyndal, first up thank you, and I have been hit and miss with posting the last few nights.

Sometimes I might get to read 3 threads and then ebay disappears other times I can't access any so I know what you are going through.

I hate getting dirty goods, but the really sneaky ones are the retagged BNWT items! I bought one of these a couple of years back, never wore it, and decided to on sell it recently when I started selling. Fortunately I had a good look, and realised that pilling under the arms didn't look very BN! So I had a proper look and spotted traces of food splatter on the front, which had been monched by moths leaving a few tiny holes!!!!

So I pulled off the tags, washed it, and didn't list it- I wear it myself and the teeny holes are not a problem, but I wish I had spotted the pilling before I gave the seller good feedback.

You can buy a tagging gun on eBay for under $6. ;-(

I wash and clean everything where i can, and wrap and post it nicely, Its hard enough to sell premium items let alone junk,
