The dishonesty of some people who will not even keep there end of the deal.
.
DO NOT BID on an item, when you know you will not pay for it.
.
They DO NOT reply back to messages.
.
We cannot leave negative feed back, instead we have to open a case with ebay.
.
STOP wasting our time.
.
In the end is it really about resolving a case of unpaying bidders?
.
The days when we could demerit slack ebayers was more honest.
.
Where is the justice??? There 100% rating is untrustworthy, not fair.
.
Has anyone else dealt with annoying unpaid buyers?

A fully (that is, properly) functioning cart system would make immediate payment required much more feasible for some sellers (those with the vast majority of items as BIN, and automatic combined post discounts, for example).

Assuming the AU site will be same with the shopping cart as it is in the US, BIN items are not removed from sale until they are paid for.

I found some info in the US Spring Seller Update about how the immediate payment system works on the US site.

If the strike system works, good.
.
In my case though what I noticed is that the ebayer who renegged, was also selling.
.
Not that I wish it to happen to that person, but if someone buys of them and renegs.
Then maybe they will understand what it feels like to be hassled by a non paying ebayer.
.
I hope Ebay will work out something better to eliminate the ebayers who do not commit once they have won.
.
Thank you for your reply too.

do you believe that there is ever a legitimate reason for not paying? I'm not talking about 'excuses' for not paying but real reasons why a buyer would not pay.
AND, if there are any real reasons for not paying, should those buyers get a strike? (or even be subjected to a negative if sellers were able to neg buyers)
on 05-12-2013 11:43 AM
Yes there are legitimate reasons for not paying.
When the seller advertises free or cheaper delivery then invoices with a higher charge.
When a buyer comes here feeling a bit suspicious after buying and we tell them whatever they do don't pay.
When the buyer tries to pay but the Paypal payment is rejected or unclaimed and the seller asks them to pay by some other method.
There are probably others if I put my mind to it.

All those reasons are grounds that the transaction should be cancelled by eBay.
It is ridiculous that current non-payment dispute process comes into play in the cases of non-payment outlined above.

If there is a legitimate reason, then they should write and communicate.
.
But when they do not even have the courtesy to reply to messages sent, this is utter scorn.!

How are you being hassled by a non payer? They are ignoring you, not hassling you.
If they don't pay and don't respond to messages as you have indicated, then just open and close the dispute, block them and move on.

It continues to be somewhat "amusing" to me that a handful of posters who are not even affected by a non-payment problem, post so much on this matter.
The OP seems quite aware of the non-payment process - I reckon just back off and let posters such as the OP have a vent about these policy-breaching, contract-breaking low-life non paying pests
