This must be the biggest profit making rip off eBay invented. EBay decided that they can rename Australian government 10% GST to import charge so they can double triple or even quadruple it for the benefit of eBay shareholders extra dividends and you will in reality pay in return for the privilege of indemnifying the crooked sellers. EBay stating in “Global Shipping Program” information for the sellers “You're protected from negative / neutral feedback,” so forget eBay principle of protecting buyers from dishonest sellers.

Why would anv overseas entity, volunteer to collect and remit GST on behalf of the ATO, free of charge. The legislation deliberately enabled these charges to be legal for oversea entities.
By the way, pitney bowes owns the GSP. not ebay, so no benefit to ebay or its shareholders.

The charges you are complaining about have nothing to do with customs duties, declarations etc. It is a fee charged by overseas shipping companies and sales companies with sales to Oz exceeding $75,000 per year, for collecting GST and processing such for the ATO.
This was all very deliberate by the Australian Government, to reduce the number of aussies buying direct from overseas

“Looks like you have no understanding of how eBay works” of course not because I’m not employed by eBay but you or one of the other so call “eBay experts??” can you stop spitting and explain to me how eBay can charge or allow the buyer to be overcharged with USD200 additional fee just for sticking a single computer generated custom declaration sticker on to the shipping box?

Looks like I found myself swimming in eBay office. So for you it is reasonable for a computer to generate a split second additional charge of 100$ on top of the original 100$ GST just for collecting the 100$ GST?? No wonder we have so many multimillionaires and so little real productive workers.

This is the deal I’m not buying from GPS I’m buying from a seller on EBay. EBay $75000+ Company is required by Australian government to collect the 10% GST on every eBay purchase. But for some reason of magical flip of a wand or crooked backdoor deal EBay did stop charging 10% GST on purchases that use some privileged parasite SHIPPING company from privileged country and the new GPS kid on the bloc that don’t sell anything took over the right of collecting 10%GST with massive additional extra mega profit surge on top of GST not a 25% not even 50% but 100 %. Are you blind or???

You have no idea. Go to ATO site and learn something.

At the top of the page where you have your statement from they don't specify https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-shipping-options/global-shipping-program?id... but if you then look at "benefits" further down the page they say what I posted yesterday.
I am not defending it and actually I try to avoid it too if possible. I am just clarifying the feedback issue (which admittingly is not clear at the top of that page if you don't read the whole article).

Are you totally lost the plot? I don’t argue with virtues of GST I’m just **bleep** off when some crooked greedy companies use the GST as a pretext to extort extra orbital additional fees from buyers just to collect the required GST. Looks like you extremely happy throwing your hard earned money out of the window. Are you aware that we have computers this century that just need few picosecond to make this GST transaction and this require probably less than a one thousand of a joule, can you grasp in your head the time and energy required to make this type of profit margin for this transaction? Looks like the world is entrench in this delusion that millionaires can **bleep** on everyone’s head and everyone will always say how beautiful is to have this yellow rain today?

Well learn how to import low value goods without paying GST and extra charges. Note these exact extra charges have been applied by all shipping companies, fedex etc, for many years for collecting GST on goods over $1000.
By the way, if ebay collect the GST, they do not apply extra charges.
If The GST is collected by Pitney Bowes, they can charge any extra amount they like. Any buyer that chooses the GSP has to way up the costs and if they dont like it, dont use it.
Sellers using the GSP are only responsible for shipping items to their local GSP distribution centre and if they fail this task then negative FB applies. Once a shipment has arrived at the GSP in order. it is inspected, verified, repacked and then the GSP takes over all responsibility for international shipping, so why should negative FB still apply to a seller for something that is now totally beyond their control, with shipment now between the buyer and the GSP
