I have tried to find the right dining set for several months ( need it so I can relist my house for sale). Today I waited , watching the perfect set that I placed a bid on yesterday & put my One Click Bid in during the last 25 seconds. I received a mesage from eBay saying the amount had to be higher that the current bid, which it was by $120! I bid again, & again the bid didn't register. The winning bidder won the item on $50 less than the bid I repeatedly tried to lodge. I reported it to eBay & all they said was that my last registerred bid was yesterday & I must've enterred the wrong amount. I have replied again telling them again that I bid twice with plenty of time & it is either a glitch in eBays system or buyers are still using some sort of programs to knock others out.
This has happened to me a few times & I fobbed it off but this time I'm p'd. Has anyone else had this happen? Both the buyer & seller lose out when this happens. In this case the seller coulld have got another 30% on their item!

1 click bidding is always fraught with danger. People always complain.
I always bid the top amount I'm willing to pay - just one bid.
Then I walk away. If I win, good. If not, so be it.
If it was the'perfect setting' why didn't you put in your top
bid to start with? That would have avoided disappointment.

My technique is to make one bid only, in the last 15 seconds, for the highest amount I would ever pay. It's worked well for me.

I put in an initial bid so I dont forget the upcoming auction down the track, & then wait til the end & also bid in the last 15-20 seconds with my highest bid. There werwe also a few bidders under $20 so I didn't want to push the price up on this one as I'd have to hire a removalist.
eBays answer p'd me off too as they obviously didn't read what I had written. Never doing 1 click bids again. I dont usually do them . Not sure if the other times this has happened has been with 1 click bidding or not, but if others are also having issues with that then ebay has a duty of care to look into it...

Good for you mark. But I don't trust ebay's glitches
to leave bidding that late. I bid as soon as I see it.

Can you please put up the listing number so we can see the bids,I have always used the 1 click bid with no problems at all and yes there will always be snipper bids in auctions.

251780111615 eBay said they only see my original smaller bid so not sure what else you'll see? It's done now & the winner has already contacted the seller. The seller said she's goign to complain to eBay too. It may or may not be the buyers fault so nothing can really be done.
