Michelle, my guess is that the seller has either read these forums and doesn't need the headache of all your dramas, or they know that selling food items to Australia is fraught with problems so have blocked Australian buyers so as not to lose grain and dairy items to our strict quarantine laws. I know I wouldn't be happy my items being lost to customs or quarantine. I like the items I sell and it would be heartbreaking to know they had been destroyed due to a country's strict laws. Plenty of US sellers know there are a lot of things they can't post to Australia.
Have you bought from this seller before? Or does their postage say "doesn't post to Australia", but as you are a law unto yourself, think you can purchase from anyone, anywhere, regardless of a seller's preferences?
I don't believe for a minute you have been blocked due to unpaid items. I truly believe you always pay for the items you buy. I think it's more likely that they don't post to Australia, or they have read these forums.

True.
I asked seller for cost of new. I dont think that's an out of the usual question I figure thats why they didnt want me to bid. I have asked them why and waiting for a response. Rather strange. They must have had a meltdown and I'm having an extra large one. Not exactly ego boosting when it happens I can tell you.
that seller may have had questions like that before from buyers who went on to be a real pain in the rrrr’s. I’m not saying you are that type of buyer michelle, just saying that some sellers have posted on the boards before that they have blocked potential bidders/buyers based solely on being asked a question that made them uneasy about the member asking the question.
A lot can depend on how you asked the question. For example, if you asked “what is the cost of this item when new because I think your item is priced close to new even though you have listed it as used?” OR “because your item is used, I would like to know how much it cost ‘new’ before making an offer. Can you tell me how much a new one of this item cost you?”
Now, both these examples would have me blocking the person asking the question if I was the seller. Michelle, can you see what I mean?
Without knowing the exact wording of your question I can only speculate. BUT, there is some Boards posting policy that prevents me from asking you to post the contents of member-to-member communications, SO, I will not ask you to post the exact wording of the question you asked the seller

I have no idea what's going on in this thread as obviously big chunks are missing, but I can't see the usual signs of a mod or editing.
But michelle, there's an easy explanation. If a seller blocks you from bidding it is because they don't want you to bid.
Simple as that.
You've been on the boards for years so you've probably read other threads about people being blocked. You would know it can be for the usual reasons-having a series of unpaid item strikes, being in a country they don't sell to and so on.
If neither of those 2 reasons can be 'it', & if you think it is not an automatic block but a personal one put on by the seller, then something you have done has put the wind up the seller.
-Have you ever had dealings with the seller before? If so, did they end badly? That could cause a seller to block you & you wouldn't notice it unless you tried to buy from them again, in which case you'd come up against the block.
-Have you asked a lot of questions or questions that might put them on the spot? Maybe you've made them nervous, they think you're shaping up as a difficult customer so they would rather not have the sale.
It doesn't matter if you think your questions are reasonable or fair. All that matters really is what the seller thinks.
Sellers are allowed to block anyone they like.
And they don't have to answer you & tell you why.
Basically, you've blown it with this seller & demanding answers is not going to help one iota... just a waste of time. You may as well move on & look at other sellers & their items, that's the bottom line.
