Bought item then seller cancelled order

I ordered an item and paid for it then asked seller(nicely)a day later would they be shipping it soon (as half the time you are left in limbo)then blow me down they messaged me with feeble excuse its restricted in Australia. I'm making a complaint to Ebay about this. This is wrong. Imagine the scenario in a store and you bought an item them the shopkeeper refused to hand it over. GIVE ME A BREAK. I think they got peeved off about me asking for shipping query and cancelled order.

If I choose to buy imported brands I'll do so thats my prerogative . And congratulations with your mouse traps from Bunnings well worth the money. I think they are cruel. Buy the traps that don't hurt the animal. Im sure you can buy them at a farm supplier outlet. And yes there is a Pet Barn near where I live.

Michelle, you seem to have missed the whole point of this discussion. It's not about whether you are able to buy these seeds or whether you' might get caught by customs or even whether what you are doing  is illegal, It is about the reason it is illegal.

Do you know what that reason is?

Have you ever seriously thought about the horrendous damage products like the ones you are trying to buy could do to our agricultural system?

Do you think the Government is lying about that danger?

Do you think you are a special case and the rules protecting our farms should only apply to other people?

Or are you well aware of the potentially catastrophic consequences of your actions but just don't care?

I would say it's the last one. The whole world revolves around the vermin rats and consquences don't apply.

I still reckon this is an attention seeking beat up. No-one could be this stupid to keep flouting the laws. Especially when the laws have been put forward countless times.

Whilst Michelle's regular tirade posts are thoroughly entertaining; She doesn't seem to see the final or possible consequences of her actions. Can anyone be so naive?

(Then there's the whole I bought & paid & want it yesterday; Why haven't they marked it as posted?; When will it arrive from overseas;  Why won't my seller post the item - I asked nicely; I may have been scammed; Scenarios from so many of her posts)

What if the whole of Australia's wheat barley rice oats millet &/ or sorghum crops were compromised because you illegally imported some bug into this country; Michelle?

Maybe all bananas were affected by your mouse banana pops import too? No more muesli for you or your rodent friends!

I'm a fan of apocalyptic fiction; I think I could now write my own book just based on the Michelle rants & how that would play out. Sadly; It's already been done in one of my favourite old books from 1956-  "The Death Of Grass" by John Christopher.  - Maybe I should send Michelle a copy?

Redders, this thread has finally tried the patience of several lurkers and posters on this thread.

Michelle may well find out what the consequences are for flouting the rules so often.

Michelle, have you fully checked out the Australian online suppliers of pet food?

I just did a quick search and saw some products that would seem ideal-quite a wide range of pellets & cubes, some labelled as exceeding the dietary standards. Plus several treat type foods.

They weren't all that dear either, I think they would be well worth a try.

The main thing is the pets get a nutritionally balanced diet and I am sure you could do that by buying Australian & avoid all the headaches of importing goods with customs worries and so on.

Give up Springy.

She just doesn't give a rat's.

She wants what she wants, and I'm not answering any more of her threads

Rats live about 2 years on average. My  daughter used to have them as pets and a couple of them lived to the ripe old age of 4 without ANY specialist food. They are scavengers and will eat just about anything, hers very often ate her diet as she chucked them any leftovers. Why anyone would risk prosecution and damage to the environment for a totally unnecessary source of food I cannot imagine.

That is my fondest wish Lyndal; That Michelle finally is prosecuted for her flouting of the customs laws! They are there for good reason.

Just look @ how the import of foxes, rabbits, cane toads & such have caused havoc within the Aussie ecosystem! Not to mention fire blight & other nasties that invade fruit trees, rust & ergot for grain crops & so on....

& then there's Michelle; to whom all laws do not apply. It's her prerogative - her words - to buy what she wishes. She is a special person so no law will stop her from feeding her rodent friends their probably contaminated treats!

The seller was very apologetic about it all and gave me a $10.00 Ebay gift voucher for all the trouble which was very good of them.
