I put a lock on my mail box yesterday as Australia post keeps stuffing my parcels in and they are falling out on the ground or half hanging out so easy for someone to steal.
So today I hear the mail lady and go out and what's she doing writing a collect card. What the my car is in the drive and she didn't even check if I was home.
So as far as I can see they are putting up there prices and lowering there services ๐
Squeeze them into people's eyes

hawker1967 - I thought this was Discussion Boards where any member could talk about THEIR experiences with their specific posties, contractors.
If I go into a thread where everyone is bagging buyers, I'm not going to tell them to GET A LIFE !!!!
As with anything, there are always a small percentage that can give the rest a bad name. You're getting worked up at the wrong people IMO.

I do not think i am at all worked up over this.
Just making a point
And if people are bagging others when there really is no need then they do need to get a life.
This is a discussion forum, and all i have done is tell you how i feel about this topic.

This is directed to all of the Australia post bashers out there.
GET A LIFE !!!!!!!!
I doubt any of you could do the job better,And put up with what the posties and contractors deal with on a day to day basis.
I could do the job much better.
I would take the parcel to the door in the circumstances that I was allowed to.
I would not safe drop parcel - if it has a DO NOT SAFE DROP big red sticker on it.
I would leave a card if the person was not at home and I had to return it to Post Office for collection.
I would be cheerful and say please and thank you when asking for a person to sign for a parcel.
could go on for days, but I won't ....

And you could easily get up at 4.30 every morning and work for 3 hours before you even deliver a parcel or letter.
You could easily lug around 30 KG boxes every day,
I could go on for days but i wont.
Please dont make silly comments like you just did ,when you really have no idea about this job and what it involves unless you are inside the system.
Leaving cards if carded,Going to doors etc is every couriers job.

Times must have changed, I would have thought it a no-no to lug around 30kg boxes. Sounds like a 2-person task to me. Hope that is not a regular occurence.

There are so many horrid jobs in this world, postal workers certainly don't have a monopoly on that.
How any one can vouch that the Australia Post service is good, and postal workers are hard workers and hard done by, across a nation wide system is beyond me. Are you the CEO??
The comments regarding lugging more than 30kg a day ... and ?? many jobs involve heavy lifting - its in the job description.
In any case, my comments are no more silly than your own are, we just have different perspectives and opinions on the matter.

We get alot of heavy boxes.
What happens is that some post offices accept them whether they should or should not.
Then they eventually end up with the courier.
And i believe there is a 22 KG limit at the post office,But no limit at the mail facility.
It is a really silly system.

Australia Post has OHS standards the same as other companies have, if standards are not being followed then WorkSafe (or relevant authorities in other states) would be very interested to visit these facilities indeed. Which facility are you taking about, I am happy to make the call.

Contractors are not actually employed by Aust Post.
So totally different Kettle of fish.
How else do you think policies are so easily breached..
And sorry will not name any facility, too easily traced back to me.
