some weeks ago there was discussion here about an "outside website" where member buying history could be looked up.
I am in no way wanting to re-start the sometimes heated discussion surrounding the use of that website, but want to let members know that you can have your buying history suppressed on that site.
It is hard to post this information without saying the name of the website, which would probably get that same old protagonists going at eachother again. So, I have uploaded a screengrab I just took from that site that details how to "opt-out" of your eBay ID being able to be searched. I will edit this post so that the image will no longer be visible on this post, but will be visible if you look at my member profile and click on my images. I will make all other images there private so that there is only one image to view.
Follow the instructions on the screengrab and your buying history will not be searchable on that outside website. Takes a little while for the request to be processed, but that should be expected. For anyone who is holding off posting because you don't want your buying history looked into you can now suppress your buying activity search results and then post here knowing that members can not search your buying habits/history on that site.
I ask that members not use this thread to start up the old arguments. Thank you.
edit: image now removed BUT still viewable through my profile public image album.

to all those that think that this thread might be responsible for eBay's decision to politely ask for that search feature to be retired . . . . . you afford me too much credit for being able to influence eBay.
Seriously, the number of members that come here to these boards is miniscule, and the hu-ha about watchcount last year on this and other threads would hardly rate a blip on eBay's radar. I think someone even mentioned that a bad spelling member may have had a hand in the decision . . . . . that thinking affords him too much importance.

Hello, everyone. This thread is getting off-topic and interpersonal. Please remember the board usage policy prohibits off-topic discussion and interpersonal dispute. Thanks. 🙂

To my way of thinking the present Moderators keep ebay much more in the loop in regards to what is being posted on the boards than LiveWorld ever did.
I feel that the constant harping about the site both in this thread and the many others where it has been mentioned many times was the downfall of the site....it is very much in line with the new rules about what we are allowed (or not) to post on the boards.

why don't they notify eBay of all the faults on the eBay site, the one's that are mentioned numerous times on numerous threads?

nah, as the Opening Poster for this thread I think we have all been celebrating watchcount buyer history tool now that it has been burried as some members loved it and others hated it.
Some are celebrating more than others and are exhibiting a lot of enthusiasm, while others are almost inconsolable now that it has gone.
I mean, it's like a funeral and wake for a long lost relative who some loved while others hated. Let us have our wake, this thread too will die and move on to the long lost thread listings pages (until some numpty resurrects it in three year's time!!!!).
watchcount buyer history tool . . . . RIP . . . . it was good while it lasted.
