Received retro canister set in the post today, the largest canister arrived with a crack on the front left hand side 1/2 way down the canister & also a significant crack on the bottom..
Ive sent an email to the seller with photos & asked for a full refund.
How long should I wait for a response before opening a case with paypal?

How many good canisters did you receive?
Is it fair to ask for a full refund if only one is broken? ;\

You have 45 days from payment date so no hurry.
There are a few shonky sellers around but most are good and will work things out with the buyer.
They may not have known or could it have cracked in transit?
The type of response you receive will give you a good indicator of how helpful the seller is.
Calling somone a shonky seller that will no doubt be out of pocket if indeed damaged in transit is a bit rich. What is there to work out?
WHat is the seller going to say "oh it's OK no problem I will refund" and "work things out"
You will need to send the items back by registered post if a compromise can't be met.

ooh - I don't think anyone was calling the seller shonky.
kopenhagen just mentioned that there are this type of seller out there but most were good
If it cracked in transit - was it not packed correctly?
And - if I purchased a 'set' of canisters, I would really love to get a 'set' - I haven't seen the price paid, but would indeed send them back to get a refund

It has a crack in it and it could be plastic, glass or ceramic.
No mention of receiving a box of glass shards so it will most likely be able to be sent back.

There certainly can be, just aslong as you specifically ask for there to be. Most things are fine to be sent without much worry of damage but ceramics, etc, need things like bubblewrap or boxes.
buyingboxy62, if you want a full refund, you should probably send the full set back by Registered Post. That way, it's back to square one.
