Product in Australia but sellers are overseas

I purposely search for Australia Only, I like to buy Australia and like my purchase quickly. Why is it possible then for the product to be located in Sydney (for example) and then be sent from Hong Kong by an overseas seller.? This seems deceitful to me..

Thoughts and answers welcome.

Re: Product in Australia but sellers are overseas

My point was that you have resurrected an old thread. Then had a go at somebody who has only a tenuous touch with reality (depending on which JHOS member you got at the time). About something that, if you really cared, you would have found more recent threads about. Some might have even been considered current. Which this one certainly isn't.

If you have a question, consider starting a new thread and asking a question. Dragging up old ones to make character judgements, deserved or not, doesn't help anybody. Especially you, assuming you are after solutions.

Re: Product in Australia but sellers are overseas

Seriously!? His point is that sellers are lying and listing there location as being within Australia when they are not. Honestly, what is it that you're not understanding...!? Saying that supermarkets make misrepresentations about products where their products are made is a shocking justification. This practice is wrong so how does that in any way make sellers lying on ebay ok.?? You're attitude is appalling - you're basically condoning their dishonesty because you think that's what they have to do to get more sales. That is disgusting - do you even realise what you are saying!? Shame on you! If a buyer doesn't want to buy from overseas then they shouldn't have to. For me, it has absolutely nothing to do with being prejudice. I buy from overseas ALL THE DAMN TIME but if I choose to buy something more locally because the product is time sensitive - or I just want to receive it sooner, then that should be my prerogative. Why does Ebay even have a search option of narrowing down to Australian sellers only if the products can come from anywhere? Like I said, I buy from overseas all the time & they almost always take a lot longer to arrive. I live in WA and when buying from overeast my items generally arrive within a week. From overseas it can take up to 2 months!!! Maybe it's because you used to live in HK that you have gotten your nose out of joint & are defending this dodgy practice even when they are so blatantly wrong, I honestly don't know - but I do know that you saying that things from China & HK took no longer than items you purchased locally is absolute BS. I suggest you run a simple test - search on a product that is available both overseas & within Australia - refer to their expected postage timeframe & you'll see that most, if not all, items that are located in Aus should arrive sooner than overseas locations. I mean seriously, that's just common sense 101 as items coming from overseas then still usually travel by Aus Post once they arrive in Australia - durrr!! I seriously question your motives for trying to justify this disgusting behaviour. I for one, am fed up & will be reporting every single dodgy seller I encounter & will be following up to see how Ebay dealt with it...

Re: Product in Australia but sellers are overseas

Who cares how old the thread is..!? If it's still going on, it's still relevant - I came upon this thread after encountering the same problem with dodgy ebay sellers because this thread came up in my search results... If anything, it's actually good to rehash from time to time because it shows people that this is still going on - & is rife from what I can gather, so evidently, Ebay have done SFA to correct this & will continue to do nothing unless we ALL start complaining...

Re: Product in Australia but sellers are overseas

Huh!? Who the eff is Adam? Is that some kind of saying or something? Anyhoo, yes, I did realise when I posted this that the thread was an old one so there's every chance that JHOS wouldn't even receive my response but what can I say, his comments REALLY annoyed me. And I didn't actually expect other commenters to get notified so I am sorry to have bothered you. That being said, this situation is still relevant to me as I am currently at my wits end from all the dodgy practices that sellers are allowed to get away with on Ebay & I think it's time for action - Ebay need to know that we're not going to tolerate it anymore. I, from here on in, are going to be relentless (well, at least to the extent that what free time I have, permits) with following up with Ebay on what actions they are taking to stamp this kind of BS.
JHOS may not have posted in several years but I have the feeling he'll still receive my message as he's still a seller on ebay - I actually tried to block him because do not want to buy anything from someone with his attitude but another Ebay flaw - it seems I'm not able to permanently block someone...
Anyway, sorry again for disturbing you after all this time... you poor thing...

OMG!! What do you think, that I deliberately when searching on old thread. No, I put a particular set of words into my searche ngine & this is the one that came up so started reading it, was annoyed by JHOS's comments and made some comments back. They were never intended for you - it's an old thread so why not just ignore my comments you!? Honestly... pffft...

While I don't condone the ressurrecting of old threads I have to congratulate you on your reply to jameshouseofstyle.  You have really hit the nail on the head and said what many of us think about their posts but are not brave enough to say.

However, jaeshouseofstyle has been absent from the boards for so long that hopefully you will get away with taking them to task with no ramifications.

Sit back and enjoy the posts by blueypops while they last people....I doubt they will be around long if they keep going like this.
