I had an item posted from Queensland on 13th June, parcel has not arrived still. Does this seem an unusually long time for an item to be delivered from Qld to Tas? It does to me. The postal information is stating item delivered but no one at home sent to post office then not picked up,then returned to sender. All sounds slightly strange to me. All my mail is being picked up at the post office due to redirection as I have moved. Contacted seller and she is baffled a bit by this but is trying to help.

How do you know it has not been returned to the sender in Queensland?
If it was sent from Queensland on the 13th it would have had plenty of time to be delivered to the PO, held for 10 days and now be on the way back to the seller.
Why do you assume that the tracking is wrong?

You pay for redirection to a PO rather then an address but surely that just cvers letters. I know my redirection does not cover parcels however I am on good terms with the PO staff and they know (at my request) to 'lose' any parcels that may arrive after I have left in the back of the shop until I return.

Omgoodness pj, lol, that may all be a bit confusing for Michelle . . . . .

I'd bet Tracking is correct and for whatever reason, it's on it's way back to Qld !
Quite infuriating for the seller too, because they will have to pay postage again to re-send. Been there, done that through no fault of my own - customers (for whatever reason) just don't collect within the 10 days. In Michelle's case though, with the arrangements she has in place with the PO, sounds a bit unfair if they have returned to sender due to non-collection - a bit of customer service wouldn't have gone astray

Seller is doing a lost parcel enquiryonline for me so maybe something will eventuate from it.
Unlucky Michelle - sit tight and wait and see what the seller comes up with.
I would be asking at the PO though, why they RTS when you are collecting all your mail ?
It is highly likely although the staff at your PO know you & would hold it, parcels are often sent by postal parcel delivery people from a sorting centre, not your local PO. I have encountered problems as a result of this on several occasions.
Long story, but basically, I had a customer in Sydney who went into her local PO and asked them to hold a parcel I sent her so she could collect it as she worked & needed the order by a certain date. I sent it with Tracking but she never received it - it was (according to Tacking) despatched from a sorting centre directly to her - it never went via the PO !! Sorry, don't mean to put you off, but it was never seen again !!! I had to resend an $80 order plus pay for Registered SOD Express post at my expense - I had no comeback on anyone and Aust. Post refused even a discretionary payment or reimbursement of either of the postage costs.
Just one of those things that happens . . . . . luckily, not very often, just unlucky for me it happened on that occasion it was a reasonably big order

Michelle - if you have moved why are you still getting mail sent to your old address - you should have had the parcel addressed to C/- the Post Office if you had arrangements in place for your mail to be held there.
Parcels are usually delivered by Independent Contractors and are not automatically covered under a redirection notice.
If tracking says it is on it's way back to Qld then it will be heading back there. I would suggest offering to pay for the cost of the seller having to resend the item to you and at the same time ask the seller to send it C/- the Post Office and not to an address you no longer live at.

Is that correct about parcels not being covered under a redirection? I'm sure I've had parcels redirected in the past, no problem and the parcel even gets one of those little yellow redirection stickers on it with my redirected address. However, that may no longer be the case. That's a bit of a concern if that's the case.
Small, thin parcels do get redirected as they are lumped in with the letter post but certainly for the last 15 years that I have been redirecting my mail for half the year it has never included ordinary parcels.

Wonder if this was made clear to Michelle ? Sometimes I find matters like this come down to asking the right questions . . . . .
