The new policy that eBay have imposed meaning any buyer residing in Queensland can not purchase any knife is not aligned with the actual legislation changes.
The only thing that has changed is that you need to be 18 to purchase a knife.
Ebay should just implement age verification and stop this ridiculous heavy handed policy that prevents legitimate users such as myself from purchasing legal items.

I’m a knife collector and have documentation stating that I am on my eBay account, I tried to purchase a Damascus boot knife today, and it came up you can’t purchase this because blah blah blah new laws in QLD, now the funny thing is I was allowed to purchase a Stanley knife and 100 blades for that knife without any issues, I think as you said an age verification system needs to be incorporated into their website where those who are buying the knives to use for their intended purposes and not to hurt, intimidate, or be idiots with them

The onus falls on every single seller of knives worldwide, to comply with this stupid Qld law. every single seller is required to verify the buyers age. I thought ebays knife sales to Qld was going to proceed with the onus to comply on sellers. I assume they have received contrary advice and now blocked sales to Qld

Really documentation on your Ebay account saying you are a collector, I guess that is as valid as me saying to a police officer I was speeding because I was late for dinner, but I have it documented on my Ebay account.

Hi . I'm trying to buy a sharpening steel.
I'm under the impression that the word knife is in the description and in the knife listing's section.
Also being over 50 .
Needs to be fixed.

You could ask the seller to remove the word knife from the listing, which may enable the item to be sold to Qld. At the moment interstate and international sellers have no idea what is required in Qld and probably don't care

How would you like other members to fix it?
We have no more control over it than you do
And a great % of members here are over 50
If it is in the wrong category , report it

This is so stupid. I have not been allowed to buy a freaking 'wooden' sword because of it. They are deplorable. I am sick of Ebay and their nonsense.

what is the listing number for the wooden sword so we can take a look at it?
Don't post the seller name, just the listing number.
It might he a simple fix like asking the seller to change the wording in the title.
Cheers.
