Seller Feedback

Hi, after a few hundred very, very bad inferior quality purchases from a few hundred womens dresses companies on Ebay, i found myself more and more reluctant to trust Seller feedback ratings.

How is it possible, after months of investigating and searching suitable suppliers, that an Ebay Seller from 2006 has NO NEGATIVE feedback - NOT EVEN ONE ! If this is by some miracle the truth, i still find myself hesitant to trust because the pictures on their store is almost identical to the ones i had problems with. Keeping in mind that these companies are stealing intellectual property from well known designer brands and Ebay are "promoting", or not doing anything about this.

Thinking of leaving Ebay for good, this is bad business on all angle's except for Ebay Man Sad

Re: Seller Feedback

Hi aussiechick:  Your "feedback left for others" shows the damage that is left on a seller's account.  Each time you select the red dot, even when a refund has been received ......... THAT is what damages a seller's account.  Also the wording on feedback a buyer gives can at times, reveal much about their business dealings generally.

i understand much of your comment here and in the original post is about venting ......

recognising the "projection before self-reflection" approach can assist in avoiding problem people

Re: Seller Feedback

As far as pictures are concerned, those companies, or ANYBODY, ARE DEFINATELY NOT ALLOWED to use famous fashion designer pictures. Its regarded as intellectual property-aussiechick

-----------------------

I'm sure that is true but from what I have seen, the sellers from China are a law unto themselves.

I know for a fact they pinch photos from legit websites.

It came to my notice a couple of years back when I had 2 daughters getting married a few months apart & did the rounds of the bridal shops, looked at the designer websites etc

Imagine my surprise to be browsing ebay one day and see some of the exact same photos from those websites (eg Essense, Allure) being used to sell wedding frocks on ebay by Chinese companies for eg $18 when I knew the proper frocks were a couple of thousand in the shops.

That's fraudulent & the odds of anyone getting a dress that looks like the designer ones would be (I suspect, anyway) very small, yet those sellers operate on ebay with impunity as far as I can make out.

I'm not putting down all Chinese sellers, depends on what you are buying. I have had some good experiences buying small things.

1.  What am i "exaggerating ?

You talk about your hundreds of clothing purchases from hundreds of different clothing companies on ebay.

Unless you have another ebay ID then you are exggerating....you have received a total of 77 feedback with 71 of these as a buyer.   You have left just 59 feedback comments with 10 of these being negatives.

Not one of the feedback comments that I looked at were for a business seller.....they were all clothing purchases from private small time sellers and if you don't think your red dots have damaged their accounts maybe you should have another look.

2. What do you know about my dealings on Ebay?

See comments above

3. Where have i "damaged" their accounts?

See comments above.

4. Dont i know about designer brand stolen pictures? Ebay dont care about FAKE stuff. In Australia, if you dont know, you'll be in big trouble for doing this ! And China dont have ANY REGARD FOR PATENTS, they dont believe in it !

If you can prove to ebay that an item is fake you can get your money back.

As for the designer brand fakes.....most of the big brand names are members of the VERO program and are quite capable of getting the fakes removed as well as the stolen photos.

If a seller does not want their photos used by others they have to click to say they are not to go into the ebay library.  Most sellers who watermark their photos would do this, but otherwise any photos in the ebay catalogue can be used.

And it is not something that concerns me as I am not a seller.

THIS IS THE REASON WHY IM LEAVING EBAY ^^^

I'd say 80% of sellers (and they all are Chinese) sell counterfeit stuff. There are so many of them that no matter how you redefine your search, they are freakin EVERYWHERE !

You dear Sir, better get your facts straight BEFORE JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS !

May I suggest that you are the one jumping to conclusions.....I am not a Sir and I have my facts straight.

It is still possible for experienced forum users to know exactly what buyers dealings are, so its a bit hard to "put one over" or exagerate to the regulars.

This information includes what items ebayers purchase, the date and price paid, the seller it was purchased from, our complete feedback history including all Negs ( read defects ) left for sellers in our history since accounts where started ( not just last 12 months ) etc. The information isnt readily available, but its out there.

I,m sure Lyndal knows where to find all of this information. Not really taking sides here, just saying, it pays to be a bit carefull when challenging some-one of Lyndals experience. !!!

On the subject of fakes, yes they are very common and I got stung a couple of times when I first started on ebay so can appreciate where you are coming from. We just need to learn from our mistakes, check the sellers feedback and if a deal looks too good to be true, be very carefull. There are still some great buys of quality items to be had here once you learn to dodge the pot holes. Good luck.
