I purchased autographs from an ebay seller selling fake autographs. He has been suspended from ebay for selling fake autographs. I filed disputes to get refunds for the items I purchased from him. He swears they are real however they failed third party authentication. He obtained my email address from the paypal transaction page and has been sending me abusive emails, calling me names, demanding I return the items (I can't return them until paypal tells me to and why should I have to pay for return postage when items are fake), making threats (says he is going to come to my country and get the photos back), and using highly offensive language. I think he is simply trying to intimidate me trying to get me to close the disputes so he can keep my money. He has sent multiple emails (I have replied to none of them). I have reported him to paypal and ebay but they can do nothing. Items have to be returned at my expense otherwise I don’t get a refund. This seller then gets his fakes back at my expense and is then free scam others either by selling them privately or on another shopping website or he can probably sign up for a new ebay account. I am so frustrated. I have really lost my faith in both paypal and ebay. I am also rambling my question is this why do I have to pay the return postage when even ebay admits the items I purchased are fake?

I use the webmail at bigpond MyConnect I don't actually use a program like microsoft outlook to view emails.

Without question PayPal will refund you as the seller is deregistered
A seller's ebay status has nothing to do with a Paypal dispute, of course Paypal will not refund just because a member has been suspended from ebay, it could have been for some minor infringement like not paying fees in time or failing to update a phone number.
If you can get written proof they are fake then you should call Paypal and tell them you do not want to return fake items so the seller can just sell them to somebody else and you should not have to return them anyway as you have proof. Ask to speak to a supervisor if you have to.
If they still insist you have to return them just calmly tell them that you are going to put in a complaint to the Ombudsman as Paypal's own policy allows for fake items to be destroyed rather than returned.
As for the emails I would just delete them without reading them then they are only wasting their own time.

In that case Helena, search for instructions in the application's help section.

I have searched to find out how to block this sellers emails however I couldn't find anything other than to contact Testra which I have done but they tell me it will not be an immediate block it may take a few days to a couple of weeks as they have to investigate where the emails come from (I have provided the information they asked for to identify the origion).

Helena, if you have "proved" that the autograph is a fake to paypals satisfaction then maybe contact paypal by phone, ask to speak to a supervisor and seek to claify why they are seeking you to commit what may be a criminal offence by sending the "fraudulent" items through the mail service, back to the seller.
I do wonder though, if the seller may have also provided authentication material of their own to paypal - creating a level of doubt over your claims. ?:|

I can't see any option on my email page that will allow me to block a sender. I used to be with another internet company and I could block emails from that account if I wanted to as there was a block option but I just can't see anything on my bigpond mail page that will allow me to block a sender. I don't think I am going to be able to figure this out so I will go in to my local telstra store tommorrow and ask them to help me. Surely someone there will know how to block a sender or be able to find out how to block a sender.

Helena just put their email into your spam file. The priority is not the abusive emails it is avoiding breaking the law by returning the fake. Get onto the anti fraud link I sent you and get back onto PayPal and speak to a supervisor not a frontline call taker.

I am with optusnet now, and use Thunderbird, and cannot block people. When I was with bigpond (more than 10 years ago) it was possible.

I did go to the anti fraud link you sent and filed a complaint. Paypal phone lines must be very busy today as I am having trouble getting through. I have been trying for a while now.
