I have a seller that hasn't accepted a payment yet through paypal.
I have gathered that maybe the payment might be on a 21 day hold for the seller, the seller has sold over 11 items in around 3 days
and I have noticed that maybe all other payments from the other buyers aren't being accepted either as there hasn't been any movement regarding feedback and what not.
Seller has relisted more items,I have messaged the seller asking why they haven't accepted the payment with no response from them.
So in a nut shell does anyone know how much time paypal gives the seller to accept the payment before cancelling it?
I have the choice though to cancel it at any stage but I don't want to do this as I might end up with a UID.

I had a seller like that. Just started selling, I talked her through upgrading her Paypal account to accept my payment, she said she had...nothing happened...I asked are you sure...eventually my funds were returned to me. Just not on the ball, not a scammer. I was a bit put out as I really wanted the item and it was very difficult to get.

The most worrying thing is not really that your payment hasn't gone through.
It is that the seller has not responded to your message. Plain incompetence or else very slack.
You say the seller has listed some new items, so obviously they have visited the ebay site. I am sure the blue hourglass logo would have been visible to them too.
I'd send a last message, saying you have paid but their paypal account is not working, I'd give it 24 hours, then if no reply or change, I would cancel the payment.
Can I just say if they get in touch and say their paypal isn't working, could you pay into their bank account instead, say no, you'll wait till they fix their paypal. I fell for that trap once & lost money & it turned out I wasn't the only one.

The seller has around 20 items that are being relisted every 24 hours with some sales but never responded to my messages about this situation so I ended up cancelling through paypal.
And guess what has happened now? yes you guessed it I have received an unpaid item message, please pay for the item or you will receive a strike against your account, unbelievable.
Seller doesn't claim payment, doesn't respond to messages, keeps selling and then I as a buyer that has been given the run around ends up with an UID lol.

If there's no Cancel button beside the unclaimed payment, this means the recipient is still considering whether to accept or refuse the payment. If a payment remains unclaimed for 30 days, it'll be refunded to you automatically.
If your payment's status is "Completed", please contact the recipient to issue a refund to you. If you didn't make this transaction or if you didn't receove the items or services you paid for, you can file a dispute in the Resolution Centre by logging in to your PayPal account. If you get a strike, ring eBay and get them to remove it. I think it's pretty obvious you have done everything you can to pay for it, given the amount of messages you've sent. I'd be sending one last message "you refused to reply to my messages, you refused to accept the payment, now you want to play dirty?". Then I'd be red dotting him.

Seller finally contacts me saying they don't know what went wrong as they sold lots at the same time and it all went fine according to them, but still no feedback from any buyers and no feedback left for the buyers.
So I asked could it be a number of issues and they said no everything is ok,I said ok then as I still want the item I will pay again
and what happened? yes the seller hasn't accepted the payment again so I will just wait for the UI strike and contact ebay when it happens.

You certainly can prove you made payment. If the seller opened a case (or was it just an automated eBay email to pay? Is there an actual case open?) you can try paying a third time, and notify eBay at the same time. Hopefully you can then avoid a strike being issued at all.
The seller has to open a case, eBay sends reminder emails, but that in itself won't get you a strike. I didn't get one as my seller didn't open a case. If they had I would have been livid!

Seller opened a case because they didn't realize that payment wasn't accepted by them.
I have tried to pay for it 4 times without success so the seller has agreed to cancel the transaction now as they say they can't find
why this happened.
I'm still waiting for the cancellation notice lol.

Did they close the UPI?

When I went and paid for the umteenth time haha it closed as the payment again was being processed.
But again it wasn't accepted so then the seller agreed to cancel the transaction due to them not being able to claim the payment but I'm
still waiting and waiting and waiting
