Seller posted item so late I received after 60 days and can't leave feedback

Seller <Removed> only posted the item when I hadn't receive it a month later, and I made a fuss. So he sent it (again, - or maybe he doesn't send items at all until the buyer complains) and I therefore didn't receive it until after 60 days + from purchase date. I want to leave feedback about this shonky seller to warn others. but eBay won't let me.

How about changing this ridiculous policy that actually protects the seller, eBay?

For years I made my buying decisions on eBay based on eBay's feedback system.

Sadly, I now know that the system is flawed, may not give a true picture, and cannot be depended on.

Thankyou to all contributors to this thread.

The feedback system has always been flawed, for the simple fact that it is where people leave subjective opinions based on what they feel, in 80 characters or less. It would be no less flawed if people were able to leave feedback indefinitely, because, well, people.

One buyer can have a bad experience and choose never to leave feedback at all, another buyer will leave negative feedback because they didn't read the description properly and the item is different in some way to what they were expecting. Feedback can be revised, and people will agree to that for a remedy that may or may not be delivered after it's revised (if they're dealing with a truly shonky seller). Feedback can also be removed, sometimes under very questionable circumstances.

If every buyer who ever purchased from me and experienced a genuine issue that I fixed once I knew about it then left me a negative, I may not look so good right now. Thankfully, only one person in 7 years has done that to me.

And at least buyers are lucky enough to be able to give a neg feedback in the first place

Sellers can not leave neg at all, no matter how underhanded and scamming a buyer is

Plus the fact some people opt to go against ebay rules and leave a green dot with a neg comment , so unless someone is going to go through and read every comment the green dots don't always add up

And a large % of buyers never bother to leave any feedback at all because 'it's too much trouble'

So while feedback (and the reading of it) is valuable, it is with no doubt hugely flawed

Ebay are far more interested in 'fixing' things that do not need fixing than in addressing real issues

Think yourself lucky that you got your item.  I trusted a Seller to resend an item, obviously they didn't because I never got it,  and the time to complain or get a refund had expired.  Just a cheap item, so no great drama, but there is a lesson to be learnt here.  I am currently about to open a "not received" case against a Seller. A complaint and refund is the only way to go.
