Hi I bought an item that costs 2600 and tge seller sent me wrong item. I sent him a msg about the problem but still got no reply. Should I open a case to return item or should I wait until the seller responds?

Seller responded and told me he tried to refund me but has been prevented by ebay this time. I went on livechat and agent told me they will refund me but they need more time to review because it is such high value claim
Is this legit?

I am reminded of my sister in law & her dealings with tradesmen... have been "building" a house for 10 years... several have walked of the job never to return.
She asked the bricklayers if they could choose "nice looking " bricks when they were laying the foundation.
My late father suggested that she only hire bald tradesmen.
She innocently asked "why is that dad?"
He replied 'to save them pulling their hair out"🤣
I may as well add this.
Many years ago I travelled to Sydney to install an irrigation system... 2 day job.
Next morning she was moving sprinklers less than an inch!

I would say if you have not been able to upload tracking ebay cannot see it has been returned. They would likely contact seller. Remember these things can take a few days and its best to a little patient.

They already know seller has confirmed delivery of the item and that he agreed to refund me but still they are holding it

Please NO. We will all be ready to get on the wine. Lots and lots of it.
One would think this whole thing is a joke but alas it is not.

I just don't get why ebay has to take this long to issue a refund. They clearly wrote
"Once the item is delivered to the seller, your refund should be processed within 2 business days. " here: https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/return-item-refund?id=4041#:~:text=Get%20your%20ref....
But this is what they sent me on tuesday
"I'm glad to confirm you will be getting your full refund and I will also notify your trading partner about this issue. Your refund will be routed to the original funding source you used. Refund should be available within 3-5 banking days. My action is pending for approval with our Second level support for High valued claims, reason is for us to make sure refund would be smooth since this is high amount. You won't need to do anything else as we'll work with your Payment provider."
Which is all vague to me. Who are they referring to by Payment provider? The seller? And also refund is not finalised but is subject to another approval?

Good thing - I already have a wine - waiting in anticipation - for refund.

Have to love this - oh eBay - you've done it again.

I’m guessing your payment provider is perhaps PayPal or your bank.
Also, SHOULD be processed within 2 business days -& - IS processed within 2 business days are completely different scenarios.
I still reckon it will be up to another 7 business days.

I have no idea why you feel the need to own 2 harps. If you are looking for a cut-price backup, maybe just maintain your last, angst-ridden, one. You only have 2 hands, and any harp requires both to be productive.
Unless you are going to go all out, fingers and toes.
I was wondering about that but didn't like to ask as it is a little off track for poor Cait.
But I was thinking... 2 harps and there is a talk of next time buying a harp it will be from Pakistan. That will be three.
Are harps not very long lasting? They're certainly expensive enough.
And Cait is in a unit. I was wondering if the sound carries to other units or if that could ever be a problem.
I haven't seen the last 4 pages or so of replies, just about to have a read. Was the harp collected okay? How did the refund go? Enjoying the thread actually. 🙂
Cait at least replies, so we get some answers.
