Seller wants me to organise shipping

Hi all, I hope you can help me.

I purchased a used item, and I paid $25 AUD postage with it, which was quite cheap for the item. Seller stated that it was buyer to organise shipping/pickup which looking at the original listing did say that. They offered a full refund if I wanted. I offered to organise shipping since the price was pretty good.

I asked to either refund the $25 and I'd organise courier pickup or keep the $25 and take it to a parcel dropoff/post office and I'll send them a label. I asked for their information so I could organise whichever option.

After over a week with no response I said I wanted to cancel and put a cancellation request in.

Few days later the cancellation request was denied and to wait until it arrived. On the 16th which was almost a week ago.

I clicked on "Item hasn't arrived" but eBay says it's not covered by the money back guarantee, which doesn't make sense on the original listing it said it was?

What do it do?

Re: Seller wants me to organise shipping

Considering the cost, I think I would ask them to cancel sale.....

Whoops I didn't mean to mark that as a solution, I did ask for a cancellation and they rejected it.

"I did ask for a cancellation and they rejected it"

If you requested to cancel the order, are you sure it wasn't eBay ?

"On paid orders, eBay will automatically decline the request after 3 days"

Oh I didn't realise, it was almost 4 days when it was rejected so very likely, is there any way to know for sure?

Actually that was over a weekend so less than two business days. Not sure if that matters.

Re: Seller wants me to organise shipping

It's an automatic closure after 3 days, nothing to do with weekends.

I don't know if the wording's different  though (seller or eBay decline)

Someone else may know.

Re: Seller wants me to organise shipping

If it's past the ETA and  you're still unable to file a claim for item not received under the MBG , go to eBay Help at the top of the page, follow the prompts until you get to the automated assistant and ask to speak to a supervisor.

There's no need to mention anything about other delivery arrangements as nothing else took place.

Simply, you purchased an item, paid the postage and the item which was  showing as covered by eBay's MBG ,  hasn't arrived.

Let us know how you go.

Re: Seller wants me to organise shipping

That's great news.

And remember, if necessary, you can ask eBay to step in after 3 business days
