Sent item back to seller for refund but his address is incorrect, so no refund

I had a problem with some earrings I bought recently, one was slightly damaged. Seller straight out refused a refund.. so I went to ebay for "help". Eventually ebay out the case on hold for 5 days in order to talk to the seller. I had to email ebay after 5 days to ask what was happening.. then was I told to send item back to seller for refund. I sent them back the same day I was told I could with tracking. The item did not get to seller within 10 days and the case was immediately closed. I lodged an enquiry with Australia Post but have since heard nothing, but instead recieved a phone call from a real estate in the same suburb as seller saying that they had my parcel and the seller was no longer at that address and hadn't been for some time. I contacted ebay yet again to let them know. Apparently they can do nothing. I contacted the seller asking them why they gave me an incorrect address, I have had no reply.. so I've ask the real estate to send parcel back to me ! I don't understand why ebay couldn't help in this situation. I have always been a good buyer, with excellent feedback.. way more than the seller. I was made to feel like I was the bad person and I lied and didn't send it item back but the seller had the wrong address .. how is this fair at all. This has been my worst experience on ebay and I have very few bad experiences. I am seriously considering closing my account. No one from ebay seems to care. I just get the same robotic answer that the case has closed.

Lyndal, if you google Paypal Australia it gives you the 1800 number

You also get the office number....a lot of members think that they can get local help by ringing the office direct for the cost of a local call.

They don't realise that the freecall number takes them to the USA.

Re: Sent item back to seller for refund but his address is incorrect, so no refund

So I opened a claim through paypal last week and have now been advised that they have decided in my favourite and for me to send the parcel back to seller for a refund.. The seller's address is the same as ebay one - incorrect. What do I do ? Send back to this address but register the parcel this time, so someone might sign for it? Should I write something on outside of parcel ie 'please sign for parcel at this address'
PayPal know it's the wrong address as I informed them when I opened the case.
