Sony wf-1000xm3 special offer for eBay plus members

I saw a banner presented Sunday evening for Sony wf-1000xm3 $200 - only 200 remaining, to drop at 8pm.

Waited for 8pm and within the few seconds where the banner that was not directing you to anywhere, was changed to direct you to "Sony wf-1000xm3" it immediately flashed up with "SOLD OUT" ?

In just 2 seconds, how can 200 units be sold out?

Is this a joke or what is happening eBay?  This must be an error or is this misleading advertising?

I have been an eBay plus member for many years, however, I feel it might be time to cancel the membership if these games are being played, as it no longer presents value to my membership!

Hoping that this is an error and that there is stock that was not sold.

Do you mean that the auction or listing was to end at 8pm?

If that is the case it will end at exactly 8pm and usually shows as no longer available.

Never wait till the very end of the listing before buying.

Most ebay offers are listed as being available while being seen on ebay.au....it i not unknown for ebay to end them early.

It appears this particular deal was circulated on a number of other sites and forums, apparently giving buyers plenty of time to create bots to buy.

Yes, bots by the sound of it. We humans just can't beat the speed of computerised pre programmed bidding, unless we employ the services of such a company. Then it's a level playing field 😎
