Unable to paySeller

I can't believe no one has posted this problem on the Community Discussion Board . . . Thursday January 10th went to pay s seller and low & behold I can't . . . process came up with an 'error message' and it said to try later. Phoned eBay . . . technical error with payment sytem won't allo buyers to pay a seller with more than 3 items . . .eBay said they're trying to fix the problem and try again in 24 to 48 hours.

So, a global multimillion dollar corporation that makes billions of dollars can cause great inconveinence and stress at buyers expense, let alone the issue with sellers who aren't aware of this 'glitch' and may lodge 'Unpaid Item Disputes', and don't have the resources to fix the problem sooner???

Seems to be a one way street here that works for eBay . . . and on top of that there's no messaging service (real time) from eBay to advise either buyers or sellers to TELL them that theres a payment issue 'glitch' etc. . . so where's the "Customer Service" in this picture . . . there isn't any . . . it's BLANK! . . . and at my expense.

Went to request a call from eBay today (Friday January 11th) and the prompt message that came up posted a message that I've exceeded my limit of (1) call back from eBay in one day . . . I called them yesterday, I did not request a

'call back' yesterday and I can't get a call back today???? Go fiqure!!!!

It's no wonder that buyers & sellers are deserting eBay to the competition . . .eBay has failed in this instance to keep a customer happy with simple Customer Service action . . . and it's at NO BIG EXPENSE either . . .overheads are tax deductable in business . . ....which means more profit.

Happy trails . . .

here ya go, someone else posted on these boards:

https://community.ebay.com.au/t5/Buying/Can-I-cancel-a-purchase-when-it-is-not-allowing-me-to-pay/m-...

The difference of course is that this buyer is only trying to pay for one item.

What a pity that shatz did not bother to mention that s/he was trying to pay for more than 40 items in the first instance....even knowing that 40 is the cut off for one invoice.

Obviously they do not learn from previous experience.

" What a pity that shatz did not bother to mention that s/he was trying to pay for more than 40 items in the first instance....even knowing that 40 is the cut off for one invoice. Obviously they do not learn from previous experience."

For the record, inclusive of my response to you in the Thread Post: re: julie_serendipity - Can I cancel a purchase when it is not allowing me to pay?

As follows;

I'm not sure your response to "Of course the system will not accomodate the OP trying to cancel a transaction.....only the seller can cancel a transaction" is directed to me or julie_seredipity. I'm not trying to cancel any items or nullify any transactions.

I'm assuming your response "Has the seller sent 2 invoices for your 40 plus items to allow you to pay?" is directed to me and If so then I'll reinterate what I previously said to Julie_serendipity;

Currently, as of yesterday (day 3 of being unable to pay the seller) I made my umpteenth call to Customer Service to see what progress there was with my issue (a growing complaint) and was told that the Tech Team are working on it (Wednesday they had told me it would take 24 – 48 hours to provide a fix!!) and I can only pay for up to 10 items domestically and up to 3 items overseas . . . unbelievable!!

This morning (Saturday 12th 4am) I went into my ‘Purchase History’ to “Pay Now’ and got that error message again (70245 70438) and instructed to try later . . . then went into my ‘Shopping Cart’ to pay the same seller (14 item invoice) and the items aren’t even listed there . . . no invoice . . . no nothing!

Please note - 10 items domestically or 3 items overseas so where does the 40+ come into this equation? I can't even pay for the invoice for 14 items.

With regard to "Has the seller sent 2 invoices for your 40 plus items to allow you to pay?"

I have individual invoices for 14, 24, 2, and 3 items which makes a total of 4 invoices = 43 items in total with 1 shipping fee on the 1st invoice for 14 items and the remainder of invoices are free shipping. I cannot pay any invoice currently as the glitch is still active (it's now day 4). Just this morning I have received my first 3 Unpaid Item Disputes (40 more to come) and when I did go to 'Pay Now' (the outcome is exactly the same for each of the three UID) I can only pay for 1 item at a time and each item has a shipping fee attached and that means that if I pay for each item I'll have paid for 43 individual shipping fees . . .not bad eh?

If you doubt this I can always repost my screen shots of the Pay Now transaction page for each of the 3 items for your viewing pleasure.

In closing, I was in the process of replying to your last response to me (now that I'm coherent and not sleep deprived) and it's still a work in progress but for now this response will suffice for this post and frankly I really like going off like a frog in a sock, because I can't pay, and it's very good therapy amongst otherthings. It makes a great point!

As for your earlier comment to me in your first response to my initial post "No need for all the drama" - I think I'll excercise my executive privilege in this instance in doing so yet again...and again...and again... till the issue, matter and problem is resolved.

That's all folks.

there are many things in life that I have no control over.  Things like the weather, other drivers on the road, eBay glitches just to name a few.

As we don’t get much rain I do jump up and down when it rains . . . . . but that is jumping up and down IN the rain while celebrating.

When other drivers do the wrong thing like change lanes in front of me suddenly without indicating I just back off a little and then resume the speed I was going.  Yelling, screaming, honking or giving them the finger wouldn’t change what they did.  It’s done, it’s over, get on with driving I say.

For me, eBay glitches are frustrating and a nuisance . . . . . . BUT . . . . . . I have a choice as to whether I get really worked up or I just sigh and lament the good old days when eBay was less glitchy and more fun.  I choose the latter as getting worked up about it will not make eBay work faster to fix the glitch.

Having read many a thread on these boards I have read posts from members who boast about how they rang eBay and gave them a mouthful.  To be honest, I really think the person on the other end of the phone goes into drone mode when someone goes off at them.  The retreat into “auto pilot” and rattle off the company line script with things like “rest assured I will escalate this with our technical team” and “we are aware of the problem and are working to fix it”.  All the while they are filing their nails for all we know.

So, the message I am trying to get across is that we are in control of how we react to things, including other posters, and I like to think I choose calm over storm.

Re: Unable to paySeller

G'day,

Yeah, there's a heap of solutions . . .right!  For those that were lucky enough to find a solution . . .I doubt that . . . Google the error code and READ all about the disasters that eBay has caused (and the listings in Google go back to 2016 - probably earlier but it was too depressing to go through 100's of previous pages after reading the first 6)

Why ooh why do WE have to do the fact finding, solution sourcing and spend endless amounts of valuable time, money, burnt brain cells and adding to high blood pressure, anxiety, stress etc, etc to DO what eBay should do to make the shopping/selling experience seamless?

This is NOT our problem so why do WE have to chase the desired outcome . . . I don't see any other retailer or service provider telling us to do THEIR work for them so WE can pay them.

Know anyone else experiencing this issue of a 'glitch' in eBay's 'No Way Pay' stuff up?

This is an absolutely ludicrous unimaginable idiotic asinine stupid beyond belief hair brain payment system that in the 21st Century with all the whizzbang tech developments in digital technology with endless ways to gain your dollar they (eBay) can't even get it right for the consumer to be able to pay for one item let alone multiple items . . . and this B*&&S%#T has been going on and off for over many years (personal experience) and they still can't get it right. W -T- F !!!

It's no wonder shoppers and sellers are deserting eBay by the droves to the competition . . . Customer Service isn't even on eBay's radar . . . just your $$$ at even a greater cost to you in the end. You can't even talk with the Technical Assistance Team (they say they have one) to explain your issue, the problem your having, to work with you to resolve the issue in real time and to arrive at a successful outcome to better your shopping/selling experience . . . AND there’s NO FOLLOW UP (I don't consider the laughable email replies from eBay as credible Follow Up – as it’s a waste of time based on the articles in the Google Search) from anyone at eBay either. . . unless of course you’ve done the wrong thing that impacts on THEM!!

I don’t want anyone telling me to consider contacting PayPal either . . . the buck stops with eBay regardless of WHO they (eBay) interface with on a payment method process . . it’s THEIR job not mine to complete the payment process . . I’m shopping and buying on eBay NOT PayPal. Personal experience with PayPal says it's eBay's problem not theirs

I mean, where else to you run into this problem with anyone else in this day and age of NOT having the ability to pay someone for something (other than system crashes & hacks). . . think about!

Maybe someone will start the ball rolling on Facebook (I’m not on Facebook) to mount public pressure which would light a fire under their A$$@S to help them pull their finger out and get results once and for all . . . there are millions of disgruntled eBayers out there.

Cheers
