Unfair feedback

Made a recent purchase and although it took about a month to arrive I left a positive feedback.

2 weeks later they still had left no feedback for me. I contacted the seller they said that they had.

3 times I wrote to say it wasn't showing, 3 times they wrote back to say it was there.  Finally I said  I would just put it down to a disappointing transaction.

The next day the feedback arrived saying 'difficult and aggresive customer' which proves it hadn't been done.

Where can I go from here. Although I have only bought 32 items I feel my name has been smeared. This seller has sold over 14,000 products, why would they do this?

At no point did I say anything other then the feedback was not there.

Re: Unfair feedback

Feedback is voluntary. There is no requirement for either party to leave it.

Feedback for buyer's only is a count of what they bought that sellers left feedback for, so is not as relevant as sellers' feedback, which can affect their livelihood..

Asking for feedback is a recipe for a less than positive response. Be thankful you aren't a seller - you probably would have scored a negative.

Re: Unfair feedback

Firstly, contact ebay to get this feedback removed and the seller with recieve a strike from ebay, sellers can not leave positive feedback with negative comments in them.

SECONDLY, you are not allowed to name IDs on here, so best that self report this post.

Re: Unfair feedback

Matey not everyone is going to leave feedback, and you're not supposed to hassle people for it.

Everything that Dave said is true, and so too is what Basil said.

You hassled this seller 4 times for something that is voluntary. They seem to be a large volume seller, so maybe they did think they had left you feedback, and it was only after your insistence that they got around to thinking maybe they had missed yours.

Also remember that everyone has 60 days in which to leave feedback, if they decide to leave it. Remember, that it is voluntary.

As Basil said, you can contact eBay and ask for the feedback removal, as it is against eBay policy to leave a neg comment with a positive rating.

Just be cautious though that you don't rattle the sellers bucket any more than you have done, as they may respond to any action by contacting eBay themselves, getting them to read the messages, thus providing evidence to them that you were hassling for feedback which is similarly against eBay policy.

Best of luck with it all. I wouldn't worry too much, just buy a few more things and that feedback will fall off the front page, and no one will notice it.

don't worry about it matey, no doubt the mods will be along shortly to edit it. You might get a warning/posting violation, but meh - you need more than one to get into trouble.

Re: Unfair feedback

You have received 33 feedback in 11 years & left 29 feedback.

Just wondering what you are going to do with your feedback ie can it now be traded for flybuys points or something ?

That French seller has impeccable 100% feedback & over 14,000 sales in 7 years.

JMO but I think you'll now find yourself on a lot of sellers BBL.

Re: Unfair feedback

I am obviously wrong in thinking that feedback was left for the buyer and seller. I have only purchased 32 items and each time we have each left each other a comment.
I think it was mainly that said they had looked and it was definitely there.

I have listened to what everyone has said and thank you for your comments.

If I were you, I wouldn't seek removal of that feedback, I would wear it like a badge of honour.  My reasoning . . . . . . . now when you buy something, sellers will go that extra mile to please you!  Think about it, please!

Spoiler
my real reasoning . . . . . we can now link to this thread whenever the "where is my feedback?" question is asked on these forum boards to demonstrate why you should never ask for feedback.  Read this spoiler? Give this post Kudos so the OP keeps the feedback  LOL  Smiley Happy

Re: Unfair feedback

While I am entirely opposed to sellers breaking the rules by leaving false pos feedback I can understand why this poor seller finally snapped and did what they did. As a buyer you have absolutely no need to ever have more than 10 feedback which allows you to post unrestricted on the boards.

You are perfectly within your rights to report the comment and have it removed but on top of being spammed by your feedback requests the seller will receive a policy violation against their account which may impact their search ratings which is rather a harsh penalty for mistakenly thinking they had left you feedback even though they were under no obligation to do so.

BBL for sure!
