Why aren't Discount Codes not being recognised ?

I have wanted to purchase a couple if itmes off Ebay using a discount code - when I place the article in the cart and go to apply the discount it will not accept it. This has happened multiple times - should I contact ACCC ?

Example 1 Petstock 20% POOLTIME code (apparently current)

Example 2 TV Stand - I ended up purchasing and could not access discount

Have you checked the Terms of the vouchers before using them?

What is the minimum spend?

Have they expired?

Are they for certain sellers or sitewide?

Contacting the ACCC is a bit over the top.........

If your purchases definitely fit the criteria you should contact ebay....they have been known to apply codes manually if they do not work through checkout.

This may be a long shot but I've noticed that when buyers place the items into their cart and then try to use the vouchers sometimes they don't seem to work.

Try and buy the item without placing it in the cart and maybe that might work with the discount vouchers?

crow, I always use the vouchers through the Cart as I maximise the discounts by buying multiple items, often from multiple sellers.....especially if it is a high value discount with a one use limit.0

It makes no difference whether you select paypal before or after entering the code.

One of the merchants has begun the process of answering my enquiry - I'll see what happens and update as appropriate.

The discount codes are eBay gifts, generally. Unless the merchant is contributing they would have as much knowledge as you.

The merchant acknoweldged the discount in correspondence. Please also refer to pictures in original post.
