the item location I find a important feature that I reckon it would get constantly used everyone all the time,
it should be there right in front of you like it use to be easy access.
now you have to click on to more refinements, then item locations, then adjust it, Why would you do that ?
making it that bit harder, then you have to go into again just to clear it, this should be easier than that, but then they have added "FORMAT" on the side menu, but you can still select these options at the top of the listings anyway..why does it need to be doubled up ?
also what happen to the side menu, its gotten wider , plus the other side with the adverts, combined that's only leaves about half a screen to cram the listing in.

It took eBay a good 24hrs to stop putting "Ended" beside the search items and substitute it with "Time Left". Who decide it was an improvement to use the word "Ended" and to discourage and disappoint potential customers (Dock those responsible for lost revenue, or they'll do it again.) It truely shows how much actual care and thought goes into the "improvements" of the so called "eBay experience". In Australia we know what that means.

Such a freaking mess. Put item location back, get rid of the rest of the crap that clutters my ebay, it's too annoying, I don't need to see ebay suggestions where it's just the same freaking item as the one I just bought or am watching. Gah! Here's a pro-tip ebay, I'm using sellers non ebay stores a lot more these days, they are clean and to the point, plus are cheaper pricings even though they are paying every single overhead to maintain their own sites and have zero ads that mean their sites are instant loaded and not delayed and rended/frozen for several seconds like this crap is. Also I'm sure I'm not the only person using my monitor in landscape mode and not portrait. Keep the touch screen layout for the mobile site which is beyond total useless as it is.
Here's the real world situation, ever since the fee increases and constant layout stuff ups, I've now gone from using ebay as my go to site for items to using it for items I can't find elsewhere. I've made this shift over the last year or so. Really sick of this constant meddling.

I thoroughly agree, I don't like the new format...they have to fart around with something that has been working ok.
I can't be bothered checking into ebay much anymore.
Bring back the location and distance feature which was so easy to use and not having to stuff around with more refinements, the simpler and faster the better.

In the ten years I have been an active member of eBay it has exponentially gotten worse.
Every change they have made is detrimental to either buyer or seller or both, so one would have to assume that these changes benefit 'somebody'. Who do you think that might be?
Exactly the same as any other corporation. Do you think banks, insurance companies and telcos make changes for your benefit?
This latest is just mind-numbingly stupid and irritating...and beneficial to eBay!
I'm not too sure if they realise how difficult they are making it for the punter (or or that they care).
Do they think that we enjoy 'jumping through hoops' EVERY time we go to make an inquiry or transaction?
Trouble is they only make changes to suit you when they start losing and they have a handle on that by constant monitoring of the turnover/profits.
Bottom line, get use to it - it's not about you, the customer - never was and never will be.

The time left in search results is now counted down in real time. I noticed this the other day - if less than a minute to go, it counts down by seconds, if less than an hour it counts down the minutes. I ran a search for an item the other day, and the first page had several items that were ending in less than a minute - it didn't take long for the time to run out and switch to 'Ended' for the first few results in that search.

I complained to ebay re the fact that a lot of my listings are now invisible - competing with OS sellers! No distinction UNLESS you put in AUS only!!
The reply from ebay was - let's just say... confusing!!
My question:
"I just want to know WHY my listings are practically invisible when searched for Victoria Secret in Health & Beauty on ebay.au. All I can see are overseas one that take up the front page. This to me seems unfair. I pay high fees for what seems to be favouritism to overseas sellers. At least put Aussies first on ebay.au!!"
ebay answer: cut & paste (spelling errors are ebays!)
Hello beautysecretfashion,
Thanks for contacting eBay about the position of your listing.
The thing is, there are a lot of controlable factors that would affect the position of your listing. Examples are, your performance, history or sold items in the listing, pricing, postage and other factors that arec considered within your account, and the listing you have. Also, the first search you make will always be for worldwide standing until you refine your search for within Australia or Australia only. If you are thinking about the listing as a whold and different price range in your listing that may affect its position, basically, it will still be based on your average price on multi variation listings. Uncontrolable factors will include your buyer’s activity. This will be based on what they are searching for, history of what they have been searching for , their location, and the search parameters and keywords that they put in the system. Currently, we cannot say or guarantee you a position with the listing, but if you improve on your over all performance, you should be able to get the most worthy position for your listing to be searchable.
Take care and enjoy your day!
Regards,
Elton V. eBay Customer Support Team

once again ebay in there infinite wisdom have yet again made searching more of a pain than a pleasure by removing item location from the listing now you either have to go into the item listing to see where it is or search through the within 200 klm or whatever of your location ,why do these brain cells have to stuff it up every time, no consultation with the users to see what they think of the new format, you now have to spend more time going to areas you should not have to,Thanks Ebay, i now spend more time on gumtree than ebay, well we all no who owns gumtree.

perhaps it would be to our advantage if ebay aus did shut down, then buyers would have to go to the other site with free listings and 2% fvf .

maybe they are doing all these changes to close it down in australia , and then they will start charging for Gumtree listings

I used to use ebay for buying almost everything. The selection of things to buy has shrunk and shrunk (I like unusual and unique things, not plastic junk from China) and now the location thing has got me thinking it's all just far too much like hard work. Definitely not a pleasure coming to browse and buy on ebay anymore.
RIP Dear ebay, I miss you so. :_|
