I made an offer on an item (which had that advertised next to item) which was declined. So I made another offer which again was declined, when I requested why?, the seller said she only accepts offers on large amounts. I think that is false advertising, she could have said that on the information of the item. Am I wrong? as this was really disappointing to me.

I do not class it as false advertising. You put an offer in and the seller did not like it...
As a seller I use the best offer function to offer customers a discount for multi quantity purchases from the same listing or a group of listings. And usually except single quantity offers if they are reasonable or the buyer has a good story to tell.
I always enjoy getting an offer for something plus it is good market research. As a buyer I always use the feature.
I would not use the auto thing as 50% of the time (in my case) the buyer wants some change to the order.

I'm not sure why anybody would think "make an offer" is to offer the seller more than the buy-it-now price.
Would you go into Myer and see a shirt for $89 and offer $100 at the counter? ?:|
I've always understood it to mean, you are interested in the item but aren't prepared to pay the buy-it-now price so you make an offer to the seller for less.
OP, if the seller didn't accept your offers, that isn't false advertising. They may only be prepared to accept $1 less than their BIN price, but that's their choice. (crazy, but their choice nevertheless) It's their item. It's your choice to make a new offer or move on.

I sell in such a tiny market in Australia that I enjoy the messages from prospective buyers even if I don't accept their offer.
It all helps whatever anyone has to say about anything being sold.

as far as im concerned if you make a reasonable offer and you are the only one then they have to accept, if not why make an offer in the first place Or with near offer, if your the only nearest then they have to cough up.

Wrong on so many levels....the seller owns the item and can do with as they please. Make an offer is exactly that ..... offer a price, if not to the sellers liking it will be declined. As said earlier if you want it badly enough then BIN.
if your the only nearest then they have to cough up.
So the seller is hoping the item will reach $50 - has a BIN of $45 - you offer $35 and yours is the ONLY offer so seller has to sell , ridiculous.

This attitude just one free entry to the BBL on all of my Ebay stores. anyone else feel the same.
I think that the make offer option is so you can negotiate a better deal, not force a seller to accept any bid, otherwise they would list it as an auction.
Some people don't understand the concept of negotiate, that is to give and take, for example;-
I'll buy two of them for a 10% discount, or I'll buy this item and two other items from you so I'll offer 12% less than the BIN price. Or I'll pay by direct deposit and save you the paypal fee and commission, I'll pick up from your shop and pay cash so how about .... etc etc....
There is a section in all the make offer screens where you can add such conditions to the offer.
If you just make a 50% discounted offer there is no incentive for the seller to sell, they can just wait until a respectful buyer comes along and pays the BIN price.

I do so hope you decide to sell one day after this new rule of yours comes in, I will be very happy if I am the only one who makes an offer so you have to sell it to me for ten bucks when you listed it for one hundred, after all I would obviously consider that a reasonable offer so case closed, definitely BBL
