I buy an item - pay immediately, but the seller takes 4 or 5 days to mail it. If they are not doing same day despatch they should indicate this on their site and I would then not buy. They demand payment within 3 days, we should demand despatch within the same time frame. EBay should have some sort of policy on this. When I buy ex East can take up to 10 working days to get here. Add a further 4 or 5 days before the item gets mailed, then this can mean it can take 3 weeks to get to WA.

I suspect you've just made a lot of sellers' special lists.

When I say she was smart, she called me rude and ungrateful.
And she took 8 days to post the item, i only messaged her after a week if it had been sent.
You didn't get the details.
She has then gone on to further abuse me. I try to be the best seller and buyer, am always polite and post the next day. If she wants to take over a week to post, explain it needs to be in her bank account not paypal before she would post. I wanted it for an event- 2 weeks after I paid and it should have got here easily. Let alone 4-5 days to post, I wouldn't have queried it at all.

Left her neg feedback, I wouldn't have bought it if I knew it would take way after the estimated date to get here. Happy to wait if people want to transfer it to their bank account but state that in the ad, 8 days is not 3 days handling time. Plus she charged more to post than it actually cost her to and responded 'smartly' when I queried after a week when it would be posted.
They were one business day late in posting your item from what they said on their listing, then you penalized them for the inefficiency of Australia Post and you gave them a negative? They deserved a negative for being one day late?
Yikes.
Also her listing said she posts in 3 days, she took 8 to post. If this is practise, she should put it on her listing so it doesn't say the item will make it to you a week before it even has a chance to. And people can purchase items hoping it will make it in time to wear it somewhere.

you paid after 7pm on the Tuesday Night.
her listing says she will usually post within 3 BUSINESS days.
she now has until the Monday as post offices close at 5pm.
she was only a day later than that, maybe two.
You cannot hold her repsonsible for the inefficiencies of Australia Post.
No seller has any control over what Australia Post does, or how fast they do their job.
You also cannot blame a seller for the guestimate that eBay give for delivery time as eBay cannot control Australia Post either.
The first rule of buying on line is buy nothing that you need in a hurry and then rely on Australia Post to deliver it. There are backlogs of up to 3 weeks atm, your seller or eBay cannot help that.
And Australia Posts are performing so badly atm, you are lucky to get your item at all, but again, the seller or eBay can help this.

sometimes, real life just gets in the way, ya know?
not every trader on eBay is a 24/7 operation. or a full on professional business with emploees to pick up the slack if something crops up.
sometimes stuff just happens
it was one or two days late in getting in the mail.
sure mark her postage stars down, if you feel the need, but a full on neg?
was the item faulty?
was the communication rude?
were postage prices too high and not compliant with eBay policy?
was the item significantly not as described?
anyway, it's your call, feedback is your opinion of the transaction.

So she took from Monday to Thursday to then post. I'm not blaming aus post at all, her attitude when I queried a 7 BUSINESS days later if it had been sent was most of the problem. Aus post was
spot on considering this time of year.

Yeah she charged extra and even told me which is why I was annoyed it took double the time to post. And I wouldn't say abusive but she has been really rude. She called me rude and ungrateful as I said earlier when querying it. And just went on that it was half the price than in store so I should accept it.
I work full time and manage to study full time (3 extra subjects on top). Life gets in the way but I always manage to post mine the next day if not same day.

However not the case in this ladys situation. She was not busy, she waited those 8 days purposefully as she was 'waiting' for it to go from her paypal to her bank account. If I knew this was compulsory I could have just put it into her bank account and it would have been there in 24 hours not 8 days. Therefore, she needs to put something in her listing and not waste people's time.

In our industry (sunglasses) the reason a seller will take 4-5 days to ship out, is because they do not have the item in stock and are drop-shipping, or using a network of affiliates.
eBay has introduce the shipping and handling time to their listings and sellers are required to list this on their website.
If this is not filled in, then you should already have alarm bells raised, because if a seller does ship out quickly, then they will definitely want you to know, as it is part of their value proposition!
We ship out the same-day and include free express shipping. A lot of sellers do not work out strong agreements with their postage carriers.
You should always check eBay for:
1) Same Product
2) Compare prices
3) Handling time
4) Shipping method (express, regular, courier)
Sometimes sellers just don't know they are doing anything wrong - so they will appreciate a quick message to them advising of their weaknesses.
We have taken on all our customers feedback over the years, and built our value proposition as strong as possible! Make them do it to! It's better for them, it's better for us as buyers and eBay will thank you when their share price goes up!
