We had the cars insured with Allianz, would recommend them to everyone, they paid us out quickly, and the prices were good. Bought two more vehicles, comparable with what we had and have some money left over - great Company.
House and contents with Budget Direct - the premium price was pretty good, but the cover not much good. We look like paying the full cost of repairs and replacement ourselves - there goes the collecting - darn.

Just replied to you on FB Wilma, that's both good and bad news. Must say, I am relieved the little penguin could swim.....well......they can can't they?
Not good re Insurance, they are all willing to take your money, not so good at paying up.

Mon, Congratulations for your new grandson Thomas Andrew a very handsome looking young fellow.
Hynes, Congratulations to you and best wishes for your on line selling here on ebay. May you have many, many sales and thank-you for the updates on Wilneil.
Wilneil so glad to here you are back living at your own place even if it is the shed for now. It is wonderful news that none of your collectables were destroyed. Good Luck with the clean up and rebuild.
A big cheer for Allianz insurance, as for Budget Direct Insurance may every-one who reads this and has insurance with them cancel theirs and change companys as fast as they can.
Leonie and Apple.

Did you hear about the elderly gent who took two stuffed dogs he had been left in a Will to a filming of an episode of Antiques Roadshow to be valued ?????
" OOOOh " said the presenter, " This is a very RARE pair 😮 produced by the Johns Brothers taxidermists who operated in London at the turn of last century. Do you have any idea what these would fetch if they were in good condition?? "
" Yes ", said the gent. "Sticks !!"
:^O :^O
( The wet weather is playing havoc with my brain B-) LOL )

oops - should have read more closely & paid attention to what was dictated to me by OH from the newspaper.
Guess we were both laughing too much at the time. :^O: ^O
OH is not laughing so much now though since receiving a couple of "mosquito" whacks
X-( X-( and that's quite OK because I have now officially gone to my DARK SIDE.

Well it looks like the river is going to peak at 5 metres, minor flood level. The time we had water in the back yard it peaked at 7.9 metres, maybe that is moderate flooding, certainly 9.5 is a major job. Will be able to stay in our present accommodation - the shed - and not have to move to higher ground. Did I tell you that the Salvos presented us with a very nice dining room suite. An oak, I think, extension table with carved legs and inlays on the top and 6 high backed chairs, they are also carved, have cane backs and velvet padded seats. Will take a photo if I can find my camera. Must say it was most unexpected and very generous as well as much appreciated. Insurance Company finally told us they are not paying us a cent, they don't cover floods, so we are on our own. Rang the builder and hopefully he will call and see us today, we would like to know what he is going to do and what we can do to help.
Will keep you posted.

Hooray for the Salvos and Boo to the insurance company.
Wilma, you've probably given stuff for years and years and years and we none of us actually know when the boot will be on the other foot. It's more the thought that somebody thought about you that is so heartwarming. What goes around sometimes comes around, so enjoy. :-x
And Karma will get the insurance company, too X-(

You are right, I have given to the Salvos for a very long time, never dreamed that one day I would be on the receiving end. They do a great job and don't make you feel the least bit uncomfortable.
As you would expect we are looking for a new Insurance Company, one that does do Flood Insurance. So far the only quote I can get is from the ANZ Bank, seems all the others I have tried on line, aren't doing new policies at present/until the weather clears/or they want you to ring them. Have only tried about 6 so far so there are quite a few more that I can get in touch with. The ANZ policy looks good, has a number of things we didn't have previously, but I would like at least one or two other quotes. As you would expect the premium is fairly high even with an over 50's discount.
I have tried Allianz, AAMI, API, and another one that I can't remember, will have another look today.
Wilma.
