I wonder why all the old people who are still around can't come back? There are all these former CS members posting in all these other places except here. When did it become uncool to post here?

And not all of them are banned from here. I wasn't around so I didn't witness whatever went on that led to so many getting banned or leaving.  But something must have gone on to make the people who aren't banned stop coming here.

Simply put?    Over-moderation

Most felt they didn't want to be treated like children.

So they go elsewhere and behave like them instead

I wonder why I can't send pms. I get a pink box with a message that says something like 'The private message you are trying to access does not exist'. I get the same message if I try to reply or if I try to send a new message. It has happened the last few times I have tried to send messages. Prior to that I never had a problem sending them. Does anyone know why?

Have you changed any settings?

Go into settings > preferences > private messaging > turn on private messaging

Don't forget to save changes

I haven't changed settings and I can receive messages. I just can't reply. I'll check my settings though.

I think a lot of people have just gone on to other things. They get banned a few times too many and then think "just stuff it"

It is no longer possible to appeal a ban to the mods. They won't even reply to a poster who has been banned.

Since I bought my wife here on ebay, I don't post as often as I used to. It's no longer the same old place we once knew and had so much fun in. Since it's not so much fun any more, posters drift away. Nowadays, if a person has too much fun here, they run a real risk of a ban without notice.
