Kevin Rudd is a bit odd and nerdy, yes, but nothing like a person with Aspergers, he is first and foremost a diplomat, and being diplomatic is NOT one of the strengths of having Aspergers syndrome! I don't think he had any problems socially with the Labor factions; he had problems with them politically.
If you want to use "Aspie traits" in this manner maybe Tony Abbotts mindless inflexible adherence to saying "No" to everything could be interpreted as repetitive and rigid behaviour - would that make him a possible "Aspie" as well?
Fitzwilliam Darcy I will agree with though - he certainly had the social skills deficits and inflexibilty we see in a lot of our AS kids
Our kids can, of course, do just about anything they want with the right supports - DS is in his second year at uni and last semester received a Deans Commendation for Academic Excellence (excuse the small motherly boast here ๐ ), he seems to be getting back into his usual academic groove after taking the better part of a year to adjust to the change from school to uni. He does have excellent support from the university disability services though, which is a great help and moral support for him.
