I have never thought about the 'puzzle' ribbon being offencive, has anyone else in here? I never thought about it being for a 'cure', just understanding. I have found a few site with people being very upset about it.

I saw a T-shirt that said "IM AUTISTIC WHATS YOUR PROBLEM"
I loved it.Made my day
A freind from school got in touch with me and wants to organise a special treat for Darcy. He works within the club circuit and when I told him Darcy loves Adam Brand he said he is going to try to organise for Darcy to meet him.Im not telling Darcy yet will wait to see if it happens.

since joe went on a train on the weekend he has been obsessed with them, he has even changed his grunting and humming to a rhythmic "chugga chugga choo choo!" lol, he is such a sweetheart :-x his grandma went out the next day and bought him a trainset :^O he loves it!

there is a little steam train that people can ride on, over on Bribie, Dolly, he might enjoy that? http://www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/guide.aspx?display=attraction&sort=locality&show=Bribie_Island

Was wondering if you saw my post and pic over on the C&A board in the doll thread?

I was also wondering about people who have older kids/teens with ASD and how they feel about it - are they happy to publicly "claim" autism or do they feel it is a private thing and not anyone's business? Mr16 is very much the latter, he hasn't ever told another kid at school about his diagnosis, he accepts he has it and will talk about different ways it affects him but he chooses to keep it private within the family.

There seems to be such a "culture" grown up around ASDs, with so many adults online self diagnosing etc, Mr16 avoids that side of things like the plague. He also has a deep aversion of the term "aspie" and refuses to use it or have used about him.

I will pop over to C&A in a minute Rae ๐Ÿ™‚
my dad hides it, because it could cause him problems that i wont go into, As i have said before, i am undiagnosed, may not even be, but seems likely, but if i was, I honestly dont know. I wouldnt be screaming it from the rooftops, but i wouldnt deny if asked IYKWIM?
Rae, do you know if there is any particular reason Mr 16 doesnt like the term aspie? or does he just not like it? (just pure curiosity ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Dolly, if it is that hard for you, I will try and come to Redcliffe to see you, but could we make it on a wednesday or Thursday as OH is home so the kids can stay home if they want (not sure 11 &13 will be thrilled if I tell them that we are going on a long trip - so that I can meet a new friend) My daughter 9 will probably love to come with me though - but anyway whatever is easiest for you - not even sure where 1/2 way is????? Besides, if it is a pay week - wouldn't mind checking out that book store - now that would impress the boys!!!!NOT
