Thanks Kiwi :-x
Kylie ~ It's hard to explain it's not that he refuses to do it, just that is stresses him out so much. I don't need to nail his foot to the floor to get him started, lol but he stresses about how long it will take him (usually thinks it will take longer than it does) He had to make a Hat for the hat parade and he hates parades and really didn't want to make a hat to be in a "stupid hat parade" (his words)
The homework isn't too hard and we generally do it together so he's not stuck on his own with it.
He gets his Ritalin at 8:30am and I really can't give it to him any later than that. It's usually 3:50pm when we get home from school in the afternoon.
LOL at doing homework in the morning this boy is not a morning person by a long shot and just getting him up & dressed for school is a challenge. He eats breaky in the car on the way most days cause he dilly dallies around and just can't focus on getting himself ready on time.
Other problem we are having is the school tried the "Have a go" approach with him for his school work, because he would just sit there and not attempt to do anything if he didn't fully understand it. So for over a year they have been saying to him "Just have a go, doesn't matter if it is wrong just have a go" and that has been good... but... they now think they may have pushed him too far on that especially when it comes to math. If you totally have no clue as to where to even begin to solve the math question how can you "have a go"? But because he's been told to "Have a go" he now isn't saying "Look I don't understand the question at all please help me?" ARRRGGGHHHH
So now they are back to trying to get him to ask for help if he doesn't understand and he is confused because they've been so insistant on "Have a go" *Sigh*
"Something wicked this way comes!"
