Grandmoon I dont think that is right either, he should find out what the reaction was and ask his doctor.
A lot of children have a mild reaction and usually get over it quickly.

It's not an easy choice, I will just say if I had to make it, I would read the insert, go online, research every single additive, research alternatives, maybe the shot is available from another doctor who uses a diffrent supplier. One who might put safer things into it. Basically same as reading the ingredents on your food, only far more vital, because harmfull things in food to some degree get filtered out through your digestive system.
Then weigh the benifits from getting the vaccinne, against the possible harmfull effects. Then base my choice on that.

Years ago, when my son started school & they had the injections when they started school, he was allergic to it then, even though he had no problems when he was a baby.
The doctor told me he couldnt have any more except the one for polio.
When I had my daughter, the dr. said not to give her any vaccinations so she only had the polio one.
Now she is an adult and a nurse, and has since had all vacinations without any problems.
Each child is different, as to whether it runs in families I dont know, as my daughter was never done.

I would not say it runs in families, some children have adverse reactions, some don't. One of mine had severe reactions as an infant and is worse as an adult.
Her child has no reactions but had her MMR in single doses.
Youngest had her vaccinations when she was 6 yo in the hospital with paed in attendance, no reaction other than swelling rash and fever, much more mild than her first dose. Her child has severe reactions.
My eldest had severe reactions but his children didn't.
I suggest medical advice and a test dose.

I had a moderate reaction to the MMR as a child, but my daughter was fine. I agree he should talk about his concerns with a doctor.

my eldest had an adverse reaction to the 4 mth whooping cough injection (he's now an adult), and never had any more whooping cough ones, after that
my others had it without any reactions
dont think its in families, but would suggest getting medical advise

Great sensible thing to do, hope the little one has no reaction.
