I miss my vege garden.  Haven't planted one for a couple

of years.  Can't get down to do the weeding.  It is very large.

I fed 6 people from it for years. Now I'm down to growing

small amounts in large pots.  Mostly herbs and salad vegies.

kopes,  Yates used to make vegie seed with a tape.

I remember I bought radish (round) in a tape.  It is

bio-degradable, you just cut the tape to size and plant.

The seeds are evenly placed inside.

I think the horribly invasive Moth Plant may have been the death

of Chokoes.   People get stooged by the nasty thing.  Maybe a good

Chokoe wae ripped out in the belief it was a Moth Plant.

We got raised beds that resemble corrugated tank sections. They're only about 700mm high, sort of oblongish rather than circular, and can be reached from all sides so not too much bending over.

Re: Anyone else have a veggie patch?

I have looked at those containers and I do want them,  but....

the poor old vegie garden is about roughly 10 metres square.

It is so overgrown that I think there are three Japanese soldiers

hiding in there, not knowing that WW2 has ended!

I have to get it all weeded to start with, and that is gunna cost

a fair bit of money.  It's a work in progress (in my mind, at least)

I don't know if the healthy communities funding has been cut but that funding was used to start garden groups in which the members helped each other get the garden established and offered cheap raised garden beds as part of the program.  instead of the owner having to do all the prep themselves the garden group members would combine to make short work of it.

I have two and they were working really nicely until the cats claimed them.

Dug out all my plants and did some planting of their own.  I did have netting over it , however my ferals (bengals) never let a bit of netting get in their way. It was on the patio which incorporated their enclosure.
