Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I found this headstone last night when I was looking around........interesting.

James Bruni of the Kellys is most interest Flashie. The Kellys were a very important family in Hobart and especially on Bruny Island.

I am most interested in Jame's surname being Bruni because the fellow who learned that the island was not connected to Tasmania was Bruni d'Entracasteaux... so it would seem he has been named after Bruni.

Whaling was a huge business in Hobart way back then and there were whaling stations on Bruny as well.

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

Good luck with your brick walls cat, if you get stuck just as Flashie if you need help, she's magic ๐Ÿ™‚

My mob are amazing and so far I have more leaves than people. It's keeping me off the streets and out of mischief, especially making sure that what I have has some form of confirmation, which can get hard.

My paternal side is hard to get a hold on and all I can do is wait until someone else comes in with some added information that will set the rabbit off runnig again.

Back to my addiction :^O

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

It is definitely addictive, isnt it darki
but a good addiction
;-)
I love it when you find something..it is an amazing feeling

I often wonder what our ancestors would think about us doing it..
and the intense connection it makes you feel towards a family member who may have died many generations ago
it makes you glow..and cry..and the hairs stand up on your neck when you feel that amazing connection to an ancestor

โ™ฅ
I may have to get some help from the amazing flashie, and everyone else who posts here..

I have been stuck & frustrated for over a decade on 2 ancestors, and now you have made me determined to have another go at finding them
