Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

I have become adicted to Ancestry.com and am lucky enough that one side of my family can be researched way back into the dim times.

The other side has hit a brick wall and I have to wait until someone else in the world may have more information.

How is everyone else going?

I haven't had a chance to finish your information yet Chuk..........our daughter decided to surprise us yesterday by getting married....................I will get to you over the next few days with the other side of your research request.

Almost 100% sure its Davall. I thought for a while it may have been Duval or Duvall, but he doesnt fit into any other family.

Unfortunately spelling and writing was very poor back then and things were misspelt and also transcribed incorrectly, so sometimes it a bit of a guessing game.

I'm pretty sure I have it right though.

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

So happy to see you're get some info about your family history Chuk, so exciting isn't it!

All of you guys are probably already onto it but tonight at 8PM ABC1 is a show called Who's been sleeping in my house, brilliant show, IMO it should go for a full hour as they could show more about the families associated with the houses.

Re: Anyone else into seeking their ancestors?

Me being an expert procrastinator, I FINALLY DID it!  I signed up for Ancestry with UK Plus yesterday.  Then my PC decided to crash.  Instead of searching for rellies I've been backing up and now reinstalling a spare PC we'd bought for occasions like this.  I did manage to see some NZ electoral rolls with family names before the big crash.

Had a lovely lunch with our NZ cousin on Monday and got some more info swapped but he was the recipient of the bulk of it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Can't wait to get back into it. :-x
