Exciting to find little tidbits like that isn't it.
Flashie and Punch helped me with a branch which was very complicated and one of the men, a grt grt grandfather I don't know how far back was married twice and whilst married to one of the ladies had a mistress on the side who had 2 kiddies whilst he was married to one of the wives. The shame. :^ORofl.

My great great grandfather was rumoured to be the fatehr of the housekeepers children.
The children were never registered so I don;t know for sure.....and my great great grandfather did marry her after his second wife died.
So the two little girls were brought up with his surname.............so I guess I will never know for sure if it is true or just rumour.
One thing I could never figure out was he is buried with his second wife.......but ther couldn;t have been a falling out with his 3rd wife because he left all his money to her.
And she in turn left all her money to her two daughters............and not a thing to my Great Great Grandfathers 13 other children.
It sure is interesting to learn all this.

It is all just so internesting & amazing! I am finding child after child, my family bred like.. well you know! Catholic families :^O
There were nuns & priests in my family and for the life of me I can't find their death certs. I wonder if there is a reason for that?
Many were only babies when they died, 4 months, 9 months etc

Indigorose...............in the Scottish census you have..... could you do a look up for me please.
Alexander Morrison 1822 Haddington Scotland.
I think the name of the place he was born says Sutton on Ancestry........but I think it should be Saltoun.....(maybe)..............but without the image it is hard to tell if it has been mistranscribed.
His wifes name is Isabella.

I have found Alexander, wife Isabella and 3 children plus another 6yo with a different name.
The birth place is given as SALTON Haddington.
I can send you the whole thing if you like.

That is what Ancestry says........thanks Indigorose..............but I can not find a Salton Haddington Scotland.
I was hoping it would have said Saltoun.
I think his parents may have been Andrew and Mary Morrison nee Ferguson.............as I found a birth that matches.....but the place of birth is Saltoun.................which is near Haddington.
