Are you a sinner?

If so, do you deserve to go to hell?

Discuss.

Could be a very short lived thread. lol

sinner
/ˈsɪnə/

noun
  1. a person who transgresses against divine law by committing an immoral act or acts.

Yes. With the exception of Jesus of Nazareth, everyone ever born of a woman is a sinner – whether male or female, young or old, Jew or Gentile. (Adam and Eve were created sinless, but they soon sinned.)

As for Hell - one would have to believe there was a Heaven.

How does a baby transgresse against the divine law?

Are you saying "everyone born of a woman" is already a sinner? Jesus was born from a woman.

Have you got proof that he even existed?

Signatures suck.

Re: Are you a sinner?

Jesus existed. Whether his mother was a virgin, or his father cuckolded, or that god had anything to do with his conception, is another matter.

My take is that he was a rabble rouser dealt with by the laws applying at the time.

Given the Christians portray him as a white man when he was Palestinian tells much.

It was a mistranslation. The word they were suppose to translate meant "young lady" not "virgin"

Re: Are you a sinner?

So the purpose of this thread is to determine whether YOU are a sinner, and as such whether YOU will go to hell?

Surely YOU would know whether you have sinned, and YOU would know the alleged consequences thereof.

Maybe look within yourself and your religion, rather than asking atheists.

Mistranslated by who?

Where are your sources?

Why would you trust people who 'mistranslate' Hebrew into Olde English to have a grasp on reality? Or not have an agenda?

Re: Are you a sinner?

"Jesus existed".

"There is no definitive physical or archaeological evidence of the existence of Jesus. “There’s nothing conclusive"

"Historian Flavius Josephus wrote one of the earliest non-biblical accounts of Jesus. Thought to have been born a few years after the crucifixion of Jesus around 37 A.D., Josephus knew people who had seen and heard Jesus. His "Testimonium Flavianum,” describes a man “who did surprising deeds” and was condemned to be crucified by Pilate. But "Most scholars suggest that Christian scribes later modified portions of the passage but did not insert it wholesale into the text".

In 116 A.D., the Roman historian Tacitus wrote, "Jesus was executed by the governor of Judea, Pontius Pilate, for crimes against the state, and a religious movement of his followers sprang up in his wake.” But this was based on hearsay, and hymns sung by Christians.

Christopher Klein

There are no historical or biblical accounts of Jesus written by anybody who personally witnessed his existence.

Matthew 1:18 - 21

18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly 20 But after he had considered this, an angelof the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit .21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
