The Auction was scheduled for last night 17/2/2015.
Anyone know if it sold? My thought was that it could sell for at least $1.5m.

That could be.
Bad news for the neighbors though and I daresay it will start again when the council have to clean up the next mess.
its revolting right now
the clean up never lasts for more than 5 mins
a permanent solution is essential

I hope that this family will be given and accept the help they need.
But I feel for the neighbours- can you imagine what they have gone through with the Bobolas for neighbours?..they also may be in need of help.

The question is; Have they had that much in savings to be able to pay the debt or have they borrowed from the Bank?
Either way, they soon will be in more trouble again, because the council will have to clean up for health reasons for the neighbourhood. So, again they will be charged thousands for the clean up.
If money was borrowed from the bank, repayments have to be made. $180,000.- is a whopper to be repaid. Fall short on payments and the Bank will take the house.
Will be interesting to watch the eventual outcome.

Yes, erica, if the Bobola's family have no income, they can't keep borrowing $180 000. Do they intend to clean up their property themselves and keep it tidy? Doesn't look like it.
The Daily Telegraph
Neighbours will have to wait until at least April for ยญanother clean-up when council applies for an order from the Land and Environment Court. The council will also chase the family through the courts for another $160,000 in cleaning and legal fees.
โWe feel for the family and we have sought to connect them with local support services and agencies,โ a council spokesman said.
Estate agent Ric Serrao, who organised last nightโs auction, said 63 contracts had been handed out ahead of the sale and bids as high as $2 million were expected.
Mary Bobolas bought the house in 1973 for $15,000.

It has been reported that the conditions of sale will require the buyerโs to take on the responsibility of removing the Bobolas family from the home and foot the clean-up costs for any garbage left on the property.
Good luck with that then

I don't understand though. They raised the money to save the house,
but now they owe just as much again?
Mind you. their front yard looks like my spare room hahahahahahaha
