Computer help please

I ask on this forum because it is a small problem and I am sure there is someone here who can help.  Please.

Somehow I have clicked somewhere and bu gg ered something up.

I can no longer do emoticons, emoticons have disappeared from my past posts, and do not show in other people's posts.  The folder icons down the left of the thread titles have disappeared.  Any icons at all are missing, the stars which accompany peoples' feedback score, the button to kudos someone is black.  A few other things.

So it something to with icons.  Show icons/ images, or block icons etc.  I can find nothing in my settings that has anything to do with it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks Erica, but no.  There are no emoticons in the box at all, and it is on Rich Text even as I type now.

There are no emoticons in other peoples' posts etc.  All the folder icons down the left of the thread titles are missing, the ones which tell you which thread tou have contributed to etc.  There are no stars next to peoples' feedback numbers.  There are other icons missing.

I presume that you are not posting through clicking on Discussion Boards - Community Spirit threads, but through your Messages.

Sorry, I can not help there.

Erica

It sounds like you've changed the settings in the menu next to avi on the CS page.   The folder icons can be turned back on in your settings >Preferences>display.....then check "Show folder icons for new posts and hot or read-only topics"

No, that's checked and has never been altered.

Are you using a mobile device, such as ipad?

There is a check box which turns off images under the mobile tab in settings. You could have unticked it.

I am using a laptop.  There is no images or icons check box in my settings.

I tried IE, and everything is OK there.  Thanks for that suggestion.

So, why is Internet Explorer CS OK, and UK forum is OK, and Firefox CS not OK?

At least you wonderful people are helping me to narrow it down.

So it sounds as if its something to do with your settings on this site.

There is a setting to turn off icons in the personal settings which may have become set for some reason.

Click your ID name at the top left of this page. In the click down menu click   My Settings >Preferences >Display.  Under the "Emoticon Type" options, what is the setting?  If it's "None" change it to "Use default (Smiley)".

Thank you, but it is on default, and always has been.

In Firefox, there is a font setting you could try.

Tools > Options > Content -  Fonts and Colours - click the Advanced tab.  There is a setting for "Allow pages to choose their own fonts..."

If it is not set, change it to set (tick/check mark in the box).

Any difference?
