Re: Coronavirus update

Not sure what is not understood here - the link given is - Legal Assistance - Legal Aid.

The first shot is a section of legal aid dealing with fines relating to Covid.

The second is also on the same site dealing with traffic fine issues.

Geez - it is a legal aid site.

The spark that started a blaze
The first case of a security guard working in a quarantine hotel being infected was reported on May 27, at a similar time to the first family outbreaks being identified.

From there, infections spiralled to the point where at least 60 cases have now been linked to clusters at two hotels in Melbourne.

The hotel infections have been linked to spread in the community, including a family outbreak in south-eastern Melbourne.

But where the security guard cluster originated remained an unsolved mystery, until the Government revealed genetic research on the strains of coronavirus circulating in the community.
The state's Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton confirmed all of the strains were different from those found in the first wave: "There is no evidence of any original virus from February, March around currently," Professor Sutton said last Tuesday.

Which means it most likely came from overseas.

Mandatory hotel quarantine is widely accepted to be one of the biggest factors that helped Australia flatten the curve the first time, but now it seems likely that a single failure in that program sparked a wave of cases far bigger than the first.

Which all indicates that if we keep our international borders closed as tight as a drum, that elimination may be a realistic target.

OK have it your way     .......  But your WRONG re it just being traffic fines   ..... eg   Your dog gets out, the ranger catches it, you are issued with  a fine, you dont pay the fine,  you keep ignoring the fine, the outcome is you will have your driver's licence suspended until the whole fine is paid.   Yes, it's seems farcical  but it is TRUE   ...... Dont believe me ph the NSW state revenue and ask 'em      ...........or live in IGNORANCE of the NSW laws   ...............last I will say on the matter

Re: Coronavirus update

From that link -

An enforcement order could result in certain actions being taken against you to recover the debt. This could include: the suspension of your driver licence, cancellation of registration, garnishing of your bank account or wages, seizure of your property by the sheriff.

And there it is.

Re: Coronavirus update

Give up - Victoria reckons if I get caught - running foul of Covid restrictions - not distancing - being in the wrong place etc - I will lose my drivers license.

Sheesh - country thick.

Re: Coronavirus update

It's all irrelevant anyway.

The topic that brought it up was, what were the Qld police going to do with the border breached Covid fines that aren't paid.

That's when it turned into what NSW does.

I admittted that I only knew what Vic does about unpaid fines, not other states, and was curious about Qld.
