In NSW if you don't pay a fine, and you have no rego on car, boat etc, then they will simply garnishee your income..no matter what your income is, be it a wage or a centrelink payment..if you have neither then they will march into your home and take goods to the value of. I presumed everyone would know this?

I doubt those outside of NSW , or those who hadn't incurred unpaid (or any) fines, would.
I didn't.

I knew because many, many years ago when hubby had a traffic fine, we had less than no money.
The Sherrif turned up on the door and went through the house. They're not allowed to take things like fridges, freezers, stoves and such.
Everything we had was worthless. Even the car had broken down. The only thing of value we had was a trailer that would have covered the fine.
The Sherrif said he'd come back on Friday, and the trailer better be gone.
He never came back and the fine was written off. Such a nice man.

This is what we should be doing. Funny how the countries with the highest number of cases happen to be governed by right wingers with their eyes on the economy - U.S.A., Brazil, India, Russia etc, while the countries doing best are those that put the health of their people first - N.Z, Iceland, Finland. Coincidentally those 3 countries are governed by centre-leftists and all 3 P.M's are young women.

You forgot North Korea!
Kim Jong-un "did go early" (late January) and "did go hard" (he shut down the country). And he still claims North Korea has not had one case of coronavirus.

But your data would suggest that Australia might be looking pretty good if Julia Gillard was still our Prime Minister!

So how do you think she would have done things differently?.
