and i think that sometimes people don't post all the details about their personal lives.... my sister has a 'care' letter from my father's doctor, so she's been able to take Dad to the doctor's when he needs to go, during lockdown.... probably lots of people have them for extenuating circumstances

Things are slowly to be opened up. 11.59pm tomorrow night. Cafes, Bars, Restaurants and Retail.
The ring around Melbourne separating us from Regional Vic is to be opened on Nov 8th.
It seems one poster from Melbourne, thought it was ok to visit grandkids in Regional Vic on the weekend to watch the footy final with them.
Rules for some....rules for others. Just sayin'
I had a letter from my daughters doctor giving me permission to spend some quality time with her as she is not coping very well atm.Nothing wrong or illegal in what I did..perhaps private message me before spreading your scarasm thru the boards imastawka
Nothing sarcastic in The Stalking One's post
You indicated you were merely going for a visit with you daughter and grandkids, so you could all watch the footy together, nothing was mentioned re your daughter's health until now .......very convenient imo
Losta people are ill and cant see their loved ones because the gov is/was trying to keep this virus out of regional Vic. I am assuming you had a Covid test and waited for the results before travelling
Please lmo you have no idea!!![]()

Libel: a published false statement that is damaging to a person's reputation; a written defamation. (Oxford dictionary.)

Australian Law :
You may often hear the terms 'libel' or 'slander' used in the media. ... This is because you can't technically sue someone for libel or slander in Australia, as these legal actions no longer exist. Instead, they both fall under the term 'defamation'.

defamation
Publication of false and derogatory statements about another person, without any justification recognised by law.

Okey Dokey then.
In a defamation case - one has to consider - not only the cost to pursue - but the question of the extent of ' damage ' caused - where & how - and - what recompense would be desired.
In this case :
To pursue such a matter - one would have to have - irrefutable proof - ie documents stating no law was broken - given - the laws in place at the time of - said defamation.
Damages :
LOL - even if one had - said documents - the question of ' damage ' - is the effect of an eBay chatboard.
Vexatious at best.

Andrews followed the health and science advice rather than the fed Govt advice.. that's why we have zero cases again today
So why where Victorians under an 8 pm. - 5 am Curfew ? The Victorian police commissioner has confirmed he didn't advise Andrews to lock everyone up at night. The Health minister and advisers have confirmed they didn't advise Andrews to lock everyone up at night. From all accounts none of the professionals advising Andrews believed it was required. It appears it was all Dan Andrews idea.
This is one of the things that have lead people to suggest he is acting like an out of control dictator.
As for having Zero cases today. I,m genuinely pleased for you. It has been extremely traumatic for many Victorians and left damage that will take many years to overcome. That is why it is so important to get to the bottom of why it got so out of hand in Victoria when every other state was handling outbreaks much more professionally.
